As some might know, I make DVD-covers for gog games. Unfortunately, often there is no high resolution source material to find for certain games, especially indies. So I tried to get a product card image from gog with the "inspect element" function of my web browser. But this doesn´t work like I thought. Can someone tell me how to do that?

Check with Adaliabooks. I don't know how high res the images are, but he pulls from another repository for Adalia Fundamentals for certain library display modes. He may be able to put you on a better track..?
Firefox -> right click -> go to "View Page Info" -> click "Media" and scroll down.

I hope that helps.

Cool!
Now I'm feeling like a nerd.
Baldurs Gate won't start in Ubuntu 22.04 because these libraries: libjson.so.0, libssl1.0.0, & libcrypto.so.1.0.0 are not available in the repos. I see your notes about how to download libraries listed on "game product card" but where can I find the said card? I would hate to go to the trouble finding and adding these obsolete libraries when I do not have the full list and could run into more surprises. Any help?

Can't find in the repo? I'd assume you updated apt first. Though I'm still using Mint (effectively Ubuntu 18.04)

Since the underlying libraries are unlikely to really change, could you install an older version? Otherwise i could try to gather them and drop the files and you see if they work for you?

That would be very kind of you, yes. I would try dropping them in.

I have updated and tried on these libraries via apt-get and in Synaptic.
They apparently are not existing in the packages for the 22.04 and the 20.04 versions.
I saw a comment that the last they were in was 18.04.

Gotcha. Sending you a link, libstuff.tar, which contains it says is all the required libraries for all three. I certainly hope that's all you need.

A dumb question; where do I find the link?

Check your PM/chat, now that it isn't blocking me. Hopefully those files do it for you.

The_Real_Meo:
FYI, ubuntu packages for 18.04 can still be downloaded from packages.ubuntu.com - e.g. from the search results for libjson on bionic-updates, click through to the packages you need, and then pick the (amd64 and/or i386) architecture for the download link and the checksums.

Good to know. I do hope all packages are kept for archival purposes and compatibility. Though apt is nice where it will also say what's required and add said packages.

Guess it doesn't matter, the combined packages i downloaded are here, i just didn't want a floating download link that may not work in the future left here. Though my site is gone too so i gotta get that up again.

tar file includes:
gir1.2-json-1.0_1.4.2-3ubuntu0.18.04.1_amd64.deb
libcrypto++6_5.6.4-8_amd64.deb
libjson-c3_0.12.1-1.3ubuntu0.3_amd64.deb
libjson-glib-1.0-0_1.4.2-3ubuntu0.18.04.1_amd64.deb
libjson-glib-1.0-common_1.4.2-3ubuntu0.18.04.1_all.deb
libjson-glib-dev_1.4.2-3ubuntu0.18.04.1_amd64.deb
libssl1.0.0_1.0.2n-1ubuntu5.10_amd64.deb
If there's anything missing/needed we can try to add/append to the tar, makes me wonder if the i386 would be preferred, but I'm not sure. I originally thought i was getting the source files which are compiled when you install them (since i hadn't specified x64) but guess not.

Individual package install results, Gdebi Package Installer:

libjson-c3_0.12.1-1.3ubuntu0.3_amd64.deb All dependencies satisfied – does install
libjson-glib-dev_1.4.2-3ubuntu0.18.04.1_amd64.deb Require libjson-glib-1.0-0 that won’t install
libjson-glib-1.0-common_1.4.2-3ubuntu0.18.04.1_all.deb Error: a later version is already installed
libjson-glib-1.0-0_1.4.2-3ubuntu0.18.04.1_amd64.deb Error: a later version is already installed
gir1.2-json-1.0_1.4.2-3ubuntu0.18.04.1_amd64.deb Error: a later version is already installed
libcrypto++6_5.6.4-8_amd64.deb All dependencies satisfied – does install
libssl1.0.0_1.0.2n-1ubuntu5.10_amd64.deb All dependencies satisfied – does install

Since three of the packages have a later version it is not possible to make the game Baldur’s Gate: enhanced Edition work without changes. This applies to UBUNTU 22.04 and I think it is the same for 20.04, but that it worked in 18.04.

I tried to look at the shell script but it is huge. 2.9 GB. Emacs chokes on it. Gedit and Notepad++ choke on it. I’m a bit rusty at VIM. I thought about searching out the lines referring to the obsoleted packages.
What editor was used with these?

Current versions for those that did not install;
libjson-glib-dev_1.6.6-1build1
libjson-glib-1.0-common_1.6.6-1build1
libjson-glib-1.0-0_1.6.6-1build1
gir1.2-json-1.0_ 1.6.6-1build1
