Has this game become mostly forgotten? It is relatively low on the wish list. I can understand people not knowing about Oni, Dark Earth, Drakan: Order of the Flame, Freedom Fighters etc. since these are not much known, but Myth was one of the best games ever made. It was a known game as far as I know.

It is even played today. On http://projectmagma.net/ you can download unofficial patches to play it better resolution and better renderer. I think they even play games online.

Myth and it's sequel Myth II: Soulblighter should be must have on GOG. Does Bungie want to forget them or what? They should sell well. Real time tactics in 3D environment, and physics that are even fun today, all made in dark fantasy world with cool animated cut scenes...

Don't know what's up with GOG's ability to get them here or not, but I'm with you. I love(d) the hell out of both those games. I've already voted for them on the wishlist, but maybe your thread, and this link will bring more votes to bring them here....

Myth Wish

Yessum...I guess you can't really blame though, money talks. I remember back when, when I was finishing up Soulblighter, and Bungie announcing they will no longer be making any further Myth games, as they were headed in a new direction with Halo. I was pretty sad, as I did love those Myth games a lot. That's when I realized, in the gaming world, nothing last forever. Ah, well, shit they were eventually even bought up by Microsoft, weren't they? (Bugie, not the Myth games)

thats where destiny comes in

Ahh, ok, didn't keep up that news. Who knows, perhaps if they get approached, and they can get a few xtra bucks coming their way for doing little to nothing for it, maybe they will release them....but of course, they'd have to come up with a third fuck to give first, and that's probably way too many, heh heh

Well, I am not even talking about continuation. The flop which was Myth 3 killed the series, but they could at least make Myth 1 & 2 available to sell at GOG. I mean, they would gather some extra money right?

That as a real problems with those kind of companies these days. They won't let others do remakes or sequels, won't release games for free (not even talking about source) and won't even sell them...

Sure you can download it from net from sites or torrents, but it would be better to get them legal. The release on GOG might even get some extra user base, refresh the name and might pave the way for potential sequel. If they only wanted to...

im not talking about continuing myth
bungie just doesnt seem to care at all about the series

That is rather irrelevant because they don't own the franchise any more. That would be Take-Two Interactive who is to blame right now.

Now - that totally makes sense. After all what could you expect out of big corporations? Too much risk or too niche perhaps? Ah screw it, we won't do it and no way we let others do it either.

I would say that the simply aren't aware of the interest. They got the rights when they acquired Gathering of Developers and the way that publisher handled the series didn't exactly make it look like a money maker.

Considering that Activision is pressing Bungie into continuing work on Destiny, I don't think they actually could do anything more with the Myth series as Take-Two Interactive are the ones who own the IP -- as others have mentioned, blame them (and direct your attention on them) for not putting Myth or Myth II on GOG or Steam or any other DD site.

As for Bungie themselves not caring, pretty much all of the people who worked on Myth I and II left Bungie a long time ago, with the exception of Jason Jones. As far as I know, the last thing the Myth II team worked on was Phoenix, before it got cancelled.
