Dorkness over 9000.

The Gamers, a 5-part comedic fantasy series firmly based in the nerdiest corners of the role-playing games fandom, is available up to 60% off on GOG.com. That's only $15.15 for the whole collection: Humans & Households, Hands of Fate, Dorkness Rising, Natural One, and the one that started it all, The Gamers (Director’s Cut), for the first four days.

One late night in a college dorm, four socially inept geeks immerse themselves in a fantasy world of their own creation. As their characters journey through forbidden kingdoms, ancient ruins, and the forsaken wilderness, the players attempt to solve a mysterious puzzle that could ultimately mean the difference between getting a life and death. Who is The Shadow? Where is The Princess hidden? Will any of them ever find a date? And how long do they have before their annoyed neighbors call the cops? So many questions, and that's only the first of the many adventures that lie ahead of our the bold party of heroes!

Get the whole series of The Gamers movies on GOG.com and save 60%, or get 40% discount on movies purchased separately. The special launch discount offer lasts until Tuesday, October 7, at 2:29PM GMT.
Is Hands of Fate / Does it include the Festival Cut?

rodrolliv: Never heard of this one but the theme makes think that stuff like Suburban Knights would fit quite well here. But problem with Channel Awesome and their producers, the content is already on Blip, so unless they package it with exclusive extras and goodies I don't see those coming.
Dead Gentlemen/Zombie Orpheus has most of their films streaming free online as well. What you are asking Channel Awesome to do is exactly what these guys are doing. Of course, this doesn't mean that things like Suburban Knights would ever come here. That's solely at the discretion of Doug Walker and his team.
First time I heard of these, but they look good .

Well bought and wrote my review, least I could do after watching the series so many times over the years for free online since 2003:

You're Gonna Backstab Him with a Ballista

Simply hilarious would be the most apt words to describe the film. The film was released and gained popularity way before Youtube even came about. Following a bunch of colleague students in their dorm gathering together to play a tabletop RPG, you will be brought into their fantasy world and their characters who are trying to save the Princess from the Shadow.

Along the journey the movie portrays the utter hilarity of unlucky, bad dice rolls, low character stats, overconfident tactical planning and pure roleplaying shenanigans. The movie does this by switching between the actual players themselves, giving commands and showing them arguing with the dungeon master and also the result of their actions on their fantasy alter egos. The actors look like they really enjoy what they do. Their characters' sarcasm, disbelief, anger, heroics and enthusiasm make you feel like they're really immersed playing a tabletop RPG. Dialogue will either make you smile or laugh especially if you're a roleplaying gamer. Very recommended for people who want to relax, immerse themselves into another world and have a good laugh.

I'm actually kind of interested in this, that's a whole lot of geeky shizzle-my-nizzle for a decent price.
But I'm not sure quite what to expect, is this a bit like the Penny Arcade podcasts where they play D&D or more about LARP-ing?
Very very tempting. Might have to bite.

I've only seen the first two films, in those it's about neither. The films depict both what happens at the gaming table and a "live action" translation of what the player characters are doing. Not LARP.

Thank god, I hate LARP so that's good.
I might just pick the series up than.

For you .
I really love the two films I have seen from this series. I wasn't a huge fan of the premise of Hands of Fate, but it has some of the most genuinely funny lines I have in a while. The writing for "The Shadow", in particular, was just gold. I haven't hear of any of the other entries, but at this sale price, I think I'll have to check out at least some of them. Great choice GoG.

I don't understand how can you watch these " movies " . Even a tooth extraction is more fun than these .
