[This is a sticky post, it will be visible in every single page of this thread. It has been published in October 2020.]

Our moderation team decided not to take a side in the discussion since this giveaway thread was created by the community and, as long as there are no forum rules violated, is up to you, dear Gogers, to decide its fate. We will not set giveaway rules, edit the OP's post, nor lock the whole thread.

However, to make it easier for newcomers to understand the situation (about the OP being inactive and other), I will stick my own post right above the first one.

You are, of course, free to create new threads to start anew and make your own, clear rules. At the same time, please stay reasonable when crating them, as multiple new duplicates might make it even more confusing for many Gogers.

That being said, here you can find a post with dxenija's community poll to have better understanding of the situation: CLICK.

At the time of writing, open giveaway threads are:
- Massive Giveaways Blog (this one)
- Free (temporary) keys giveaway central topic.
- Updated Itch.io giveaways

Be nice to each other *flies away*

finkleroy: It's incredibly absurd to expect for everyone who wants to be notified of mass giveaways to check tons of different threads all the time because a few people can't be bothered to scroll past a few posts for mass giveaways that don't interest them. This nonsense seriously needs to stop.
Agreed..I was against removing Itch.io games from here, but that happened anyway.
This is just the continuation of that.

I've been following these giveaway threads for some time now, and i can tell you that in term of net value and also quality of given games so far, EGS are among the best ones, more or less on par with GOG ones and Steam (which by the way are fewer and far between). Not so much about the ones in Indiegala, Itch.io, gamehag, gamepower or whatever else ga's.
The fact that they seem to be abundant and flooding the thread these days is strictly connected with winter holiday season
and daily gifts; normally they are weeklies at best.
So i think them ppl can bare the load for few more days, and be happy and thankful for there will be days ahead when we will wish for abundance but they'll be so scarce.
My two cents. Peace out.
PS sorry for mistakes, english not my first language.

First itch.io and now no EGS? Then what, no Big Fish codes because there's some every month? This thread is not "Steam giveaways".

You're exactly right. If anything, the itch.io games should be put back in this giveaway. Or maybe we can make a special thread for all mass giveaways. Oh, wait. We already have two.
If I may chime in, as a "only consumer" (sadly, no time to hunt down freebies)?

I was fine with one thread. I'm fine with two (there is a lot going on with itch.io).

I'd also be fine with a split between DRM, and DRM-free stores, because that's the thing that matters for me in the end, I don't take DRM'd games or install clients. Not even for free. But I'm fine with the way it is, or as it was before. All is well. It's now a lot, with Xmas and all, but will calm down after that anyway.

Too many threads would be bad, not only hard to track for those who don't care about DRM, but also they would dry up fast, with updates only within a month or more.

That said, I really want to thank everyone keeping these threads updated, that's really great work. I've always upvoted the announcement posts, but I really feel I should say it in person: THANK YOU! and Corona-free *HUGS* if you want them.
One thread that collects all giveaways so we can look them up in a time-efficient and convenient way. Honestly can't figure out why – again and again – some of you dislike this concept.

Somehow I completely missed Unreal Tournament free from Epic... Anyone else?

[Edit] It might be worthwhile to frequently check Free Games from Epic...

They're Canadians, so I'm sure if you ask nicely they'll accommodate you. That's how I became PM of Canada.

If we have more than one thread, then those threads should list different things. Currently "Massive giveaway blog" and "Free temp keys" list the exact same things, and one of the threads should close IMHO. I like my old suggestion of one thread for "major" games and one for indie games. I also like yours of drm and no-drm. If we have more than one thread, the difference should be clear and easily understood by the average international gamer, such as the "gaming deals thread" which lists discounted game bundles or collections, not freebies.

I also want to second your praise for all those who take the time to type out all the GAs and deals and whatnot. Thank you!
