By the way, why not include games developed by women in this giveaway? Two examples I can think of offhand are Dragon Wars and Wizardry 8.

dtgreene: Not necessarily; some games have character creation but don't let you choose gender. For example, Eschalon: Book 1 only lets you play as a male character.

Also, there are games that give you a gender selection, but end up favoring male characters; the Gold Box games are the best example I can think of here, mainly because it's so blatant (male characters have a strength advantage over female ones, and female charactes don't get anything to compensate).
He probably had games like Oblivion in mind which don't favor male PCs. At least I never felt at a disadvantage slaughtering hordes of enemies with my warrior priestess.

*ponders* Oh well, time for a re-install. Its not like Bethesda gets off its butt and let Gog release Skyrim anyway.

Its roots lie in the Socialist Party of America, the International Socialist Woman's Conference, and the date was predominantly celebrated by the socialist movement and communist countries. I'd say a giveaway is most appropriate.
