I just can't get my copy of Kiss to work properly on Windows 8.1 x64.
I've tried everything there is to try. I recalled it working flawlessly on Windows 7, so I tried that with the comp. feature.
Of course it didn't work, the comp feature is just bullshit.

The framerate is abysmal and there's terrible mouse lag.

Is there a kind soul that could help me?

Shit, I'd kill to be able to run all my CD+ discs from the mid-90s, but Redbook shitcanned that the day after that technology came out.

I'd especially love to run Primus "Tales from the Punchbowl" and Alice in Chains "Jar of Flies".

Did you try using Compatibility mode for XP instead of 7?
You can also try this for mouse lag.

I'm pretty sure I did, IIRC I tried every OS in the list.

You don't think so? It was a clear cash in, a very poorly made one. The kind of thing we use to get at McDonalds as kids. Great album though!
Sounds like it might have similar issues to those found in Shogo, which have to do with Windows 8's awful DirectDraw compatibility/emulation.
Supposedly, people were able to get Shogo to run properly with the dgVoodoo 2 wrapper. Maybe it helps in this case, as well.

You think I'd waste money on a game I don't like, or think is bad? Are you that thickheaded?

I'll give that a shot. If all else fails I still have my laptop with Windows 7 on it

You might, nostalgia is a powerful drug. :P
Good luck getting it to work.

Considering what gamers are like with nostalgia, you might be too. :P

I actually DID buy a game I knew I wouldn't like once, "You are empty".
But the reason I bought that was because at that time I was a hoarder. Now my money is quite limited, so I can't just waltz around and buy crap just for the sake of it.

Alright! I tried it and it works! I've only tried with one resolution so far, (it appeared to be the smallest) so I'll update soon to say if higher tiers works as well.

Update: Running in sweet 1920x1080 with a buttersmooth framerate and sweet mouse input.
So far I've only managed to get 16 bit colormode to work. But hey, it works!

Ha nice. Hope you enjoy it. :P
I found another solution, I think this one works the best.
Check attached image to see how I did it.

If anybody has still issues with this game, feel free to PM me. I've adressed several problems with this game, but some of the solutions are kinda long and techy.
