IMPORTANT: Please read before posting This topic has been provided to discuss the latest releases of our Downloader (for both Mac and Windows systems) and to submit bug reports. The stable releases (recommended for most users) can be found at this address:http://www.gog.com/downloader.

Latest version:

Mac OS X - 1.2 (build 512)
Windows - 3.6.0

Both Downloaders now have the option of sending Error Reports directly to us (this can be found in app under Settings).

No, if you already installed the 'b' version, you're good to go :)

Hm, I have started using stable Downloader 3.0 few days ago and sadly, I too have problems.
It's that known problem, I think - it downloads fine some time then stops, speed starts to drop and if I actually try to pause the download, program crashes. Restarting it helps, but just for some time.

So here is my question:

Does anybody have older version of Downloader?

I had 0.9something but deleted it for good when I got 3.0. I never had any problems with older version and much to my amusement/confusion, downloading speeds were WAY higher than it was even possible for my connection. Better don't ask how.

Now, to Downloader dev-team - I am not abandoning this newer version completely, just for the time being. In this few days I just had so much troubles I got fed up with it. But I am sure you'll fix them somehow sometimes later, just keep working on it! :)
I'll be happy to start using new version, but just not right now. ;)

So if anyone has older Downloader version...I thank you in advance

P.S.: I hope this post is not too much offtopic? If it is, I apologize.

As an update to my previous post about the downloader being incredibly slow, I now have found out that it's being caused by some local problem on my end. On my laptop the Downloader works just fine so it can't be the internet connection. Might be a setting on my computer or even the router. If that's true there is probably not much you can do but any suggestions for what I can do to fix this would be welcome :-)

Hi. I just installed the 3.0.51b version when I was notified by GOG, and now the downloader will not connect to GOG. It simply says, "connecting", and stays off line. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling a couple of times, but no joy.

I have Windows 7x64, English, and I cleaned out the log and am attaching my latest attempt to start up the downloader found in the log file (couldn't attach a file):

Thanks for your suggestion. Checked, but didn't find anything amiss. However, when I went to open the downloader today, it connected just fine. I'm not sure what I did wrong yesterday (feel a bit stupid), but am happy to be using the downloader again.

I'm using a fresh download and install of the 3.0.51b downloader.

All I want to do is start over with a game download. I let the initial attempt run overnight as the file was pretty big. Something must have happened and the download stopped and I could not get it started again, no matter what I tried. After a reboot, I downloaded another game as I'm restoring files after a reformat and reinstall of my Windows 7 OS. NOW, the downloader wants to resume the first game. However, I've deleted all the files that were in the partial download that was interrupted for some reason.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the downloader, but no, the game starts downloading at the 50% mark again. All I want to do is start over!

First thing, remove the game from the downloader (right click, remove from list). Second, go to the directory the files were downloaded to, and delete any chunks (files 10MB or less, with a file extension of a number between 1 and 200). Third, go to %localappdata%\GOG.com (enter this on the explorer address bar or the run prompt, it should take you to the correct location) and delete any .bin files. Fourth, re-add the game to downloader.
The 2nd part is so there won't be any files/parts found to be already downloaded, though it does help if you can't keep the computer online for the duration of the download, the 3rd part is to delete any entry the downloader may have kept of the downloaded game (though on removing a game, the entry should be removed as well).

Try clearing the Downloader "cache" folder found at C\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\GOG.com, this should help.

Oddly enough there is nothing in the GOG.com folder except for a "logger" text file after the install.

I'm getting the infinite loop of login screens. I already checked my firewall and antivirus settings. I'm using Win7 x64 with Waterfox. Any Ideas?

EDIT: Fixed. The problem was that my password contained special characters. There should probably be a list of which characters cause problems for the downloader, or if there already is one, it should be made more prominent.

Have the same problem.

One game jammed in there that I already finished downloading last week, but it's starting again at the beginning and there's no way to delete it.

The one I do want won't start because, unless I'm mistaken, there's no way to delete a game download on GOG downloader.

Honestly, I rarely use GOG's downloader as it's just never worked well for me (wish GOG had something similar to GamersGate's, which is stellar and I never have a problem with) but, lately, it's just getting worse and worse :(

Oh and there's no way to delete the GOG downloader either :( Every time I try it tells me it can't be done as the application is open. It's not, but it won't listen to me :)

Right Click->Remove from List to remove an item from the downloader, or drag and drop to rearrange the order.
