I know they do things some people dont like but truthfully they are the best company out there. The make great games, they try to be as transparent as possible, and they run GOG which is probably the best game store around if not for the drm policies then for everything else it provides. CD Projekt Red makes me happy just knowing a company like them exists.

I agree.....but....love is a bit thick:)
Tbh, I'd like to know if the rumors about crunch are to be believed. That would drastically change my opinion about them, one way or another.

Well, if CDP makes you happy, what could anyone say against it. Congratulations that you found the company you can be in love with.
Question is... does CDPR love you back?

Technically the GOG staff runs GOG -- And they're part of CD Projekt, not CD Projekt RED ( their games dev team ), but people often get these two mixed up.

I guess some "cruch" period probably happened, because it's sadly considered normal nowadays (it should be illegal or limited and very well paid, instead).
I just hope it was less brutal than other places..

Hard to be 100% sure but this is informative: https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/CD-PROJEKT-RED-Reviews-E644250.htm

"- Crunches for years. People staying for 10-12h/day and coming in on weekends, just so they can meet the required dates. And that's not during approved crunch.
During "real" crunches some people tend to stay till 2 or 4 am, then show up next morning to do the same. After some time, the project is redesigned and a lot of effort goes into the bin, while new deadlines and design decisions make people shake their heads.
Might be good for the game, but holy crap - where's the prototypes and preproduction?"

Also as others have said - this is not CD Projekt Red but close enough.

I would like to add that idolizing companies is never good. Companies don't care about you, only about your money. Always remember that.
Who's behind CDPR?
CDPR is a AAA studio run by suits and a board of directors, interested more in what their shareholders think than anyone else.

Are there passionate people in the company?
Sure there are. You don't get this kind of quality without someone in the chain pouring his heart's blood into all the corporeal greed.

Is there crunch?
Evidently there is crunch. Evidently it's horrific. Evidently, the problem isn't wiped away by saying "that's part of the industry" or even "others are worse (hint hint RockStar).

Maybe they can't be that great without the crunch?
We'd have two Cyberpunk 2077s right now, made without crunch, if only the suits didn't keep changing their minds about crucial design decisions i.e. keep "reinventing the wheel" while the non suits drag the wagon through the mud.

Can I "love" CDPR?
You can do whatever you want to. But 'loving' a AAA company is always frought with the utter risk of heartbreak.
No doubt about that. Cd Projekt Red are the best developers. They care about their fans and know exactly what content they have to provide to their customers to make them happy unlike EA and Blizzard. Can't wait to play Cyberpunk 2077 :)

How sure are you about the suits part?
While it's most likely that suits must be part of any successful company,
I find it hard to believe the board keeps allowing the suits to keep changing directions without significant reason.
For the least part, suits should provide viable justification why the development must be prolonged.
And I believe at least some of creative and developer heads are in the board - which should stop nonsensical decisions,
Oh boy, let's see how long it takes before CD Project does something you deem a betrayal. Will sure be fun to read your future rants about what an absolutely horrid aberration they are, again and again, in every thread that's even remotely about CD Project. Yep, there sure aren't enough of those fun loving folks around.

So do I, and in many southern states, it's completely legal! :D
Honestly people shouldn't just outright love a company as in the end they don't really "love" you back, they love your money.

Valve had people marching in step with them and in return Valve introduced Mainstream DRM, introduced microtransactions to paid games, stopped making games that people "loved" for years, was the first to introduced end user agreements that took away your right to legally own content you purchase on there store, Loot boxes, etc.

Blizzard as well has done the same thing with microtransactions in a subscription based MMO, and making a mobile only version of a staple game figuring the hardcore gamers would just lap it up since they "love" Blizzard so much (evidence showing it may be a reskin of an existing clone game made by another developer).

Be careful who you love, as in the end they may only love you for what's in your wallet, not what's in your heart.
