Same as above, on Firefox it did not work the first time but did work the second time with zero changes. Weird. Anyway, thanks!

After failing to figure out how to enter stuff in the Firefox console, I instead tried clearing it out through the little bell notification doohickey up top. That worked for me, getting rid of the purple dot. Also cleared the other notifications from the bell, but that's not a big hassle for me.

adaliabooks: Not sure if that does work or not (I'd need a message and a forum reply to test it myself), but this way doesn't require anyone else's assistance and really isn't that tricky to do.

Lexor: Opening console can be sometimes "scary" for non-tech people. :D
Don't blame you, when you open the Console, you see the gog logo ascii with galaxy hidden in there. It's like they know.

Lexor: For non-tech people easier could be to ask somebody else for PM then select "clear notifications" from bell icon as I've heard that this way works too.

damn, finally!

I was stupid enough to post something in one of the threads with some punk complaining about "SJWs on twitter" again or some such shit and got rightfully punished with a purple dot of shame. Clearing notifications through the bell icon helped (I wouldn't have guess it works on the forum replies too, I thought it's just for sale/friends stuff)

Just a bump since I just had this thing happen to me. Pasting the code in the OP in the browser's console (did it in Opera) got rid of it, so thanks.

THIS THREAD SHOULD BE STICKIED!!!

Damn annoying purple dot. I was starting to consider painting a small spot in my screen just so that stupid dot wouldn't be there all the time.

I just wish I had seen this thread earlier. Thank you, Adalia. And thanks to idbeholdME for dugging it out.
