@Anyone
Could you please reply to my post anything at all. This is a test, I just realized that my Purple Gem notification didn't work for some reason.

This is a reply.

ConsulCaesar: This is a reply.
Thank you. No, it's the same as before (sticky gem) but I did get 2 replies in local forum without any notifications. Odd.
Well, "chat/whatever" notification clear all only works for me temporarily (effectively until I relogin).
Also, something worth noting:
If I first open multiple GOG tabs (a habit, for example to check multiple threads at once) and use the "clear all" in one tab it only works for that one, if I do something, literally anything, in another tab the dot will stay eveywhere.

And the console "solution" isn't exactly desired, it's a bother.
Honestly, I wonder if we will get any officiaial fix to this in this YEAR (given how they seem to have attitude of "upGrade CMS: NEVER").

It's just a workaround kindly provided by another gogger.
Also, it seems it previously worked correctly, but not now.
Anyone needs replies for testing, just ask.
I feel like it's going worse. Now it either doesn't disappear when using "clear all" or coming back on it's own even when no one replied to me. I gave up and just ignore it as part of the website.
Hypothesis:
Through some obscure misdesign GOG's CMS places that dot all the time if there is ANY unread new post (not to be confused with "your post got quoted" reply) in any thread given user has favourited.
I unfortunatelly cannot test this myself (I am keeping several threads intentionally with unread new posts).
But if anyone cares to test it could possibly rule out (or confirm perhaps) this eventuality.

No. I always read all my favourited threads before forcibly having to clear any purple dot present.

Huh. Well that removes one possibility then.

Nontheless, the "purple dot of eternal bother" problem does not exist since forever, they must have changed something in order for this to start happening some time ago.

Based on mystic scrying and ancient legends, it is believed the glowing purple eye of the GOGBear is an artifact of power, endowing great fortitude upon anyone who comes across it. We should be grateful for its comings and goings, even if its goings are now controlled solely by client-side monkeywrenching.
The latest notification I got was for a reply in the newsletter discounts thread in which I didn't post for a very long time. Do we get the notifications for other people by any chance?
I've been having this cursed purple gem. It shows up every time someone replies in other unrelated threads.

Don't know. But I do know that if I were to click "reply" on one of your old posts, but delete the entirety of the quoted text (including the quote tags) and just make an otherwise-unrelated post in that thread, you would still get notified. Maybe somebody did that?
(By the same token, if you hand-enter quote tags and a specific post number in a post-editing window started from the "new post" button -- rather than from the "reply" button in the post you're quoting -- the user you've quoted will not get a notification.)
Apologies if you already knew all this.
