Of all the times to pop up a 'Good News!' banner. I guess they want to keep it reserved for those "Good News!?" moments

Nice! If this is a bug, it's a benevolent one for once. If it is intentionally, yay for GOG listening to it's user base after all.

Nicole28: Okay, GOG reverted back all the good stuff they did yesterday, and we now return to the usual programming. Damm it, why can't we have nice things?! (Wish I had screen-capped the changes)
Ah well, I can't really say I'm surprised. You especially have to love how quickly GOG reverted this beneficial bug when it took them weeks to fix game library sorting.

Backward priorities and poor development practices. For shame, GOG.
And for a second people celebrated in the streets only to have their hopes and dreams crushed in under 24 hours. I guess GOG can fix some issues quickly (assuming it was a bug, and I'm not 100% sold that it was).
Since it's the one displayed by default, I assume it was the Galaxy Installer that was the one available during the "bug". But any notification about Galaxy was gone. Which leads me to wondering, how many people downloaded those malware filled installers and maybe unwittingly ended up installing Galaxy. I'd be surprised if there weren't at least a few.

I've actually bought three games because of this change. I've asked gog support person and they've told me they are galaxy free.
But now I'm confused and will not install these games until official clarification comes out.

Maybe they will launch new installers site-wide, where we need to go into three different sub-menus and untick 7 different choices to make sure Galaxy isn't auto-installed.

The way GOG have changed over the last years, we sadly have to expect the worst. It tends to not be far from the truth.
Did I miss something? lol
Just to be safe; I've deleted yesterdays installers and yes the option is back for offline and galaxy installers. Hmm; weird!

You know you could have simply started the installer and checked the options menu right? And if it was a Galaxy installer simply uncheck install Galaxy right? I mean sure I can understand not wanting a installer with Galaxy included for bloat reasons, but this may be a bit much... the games could have still been installed without Galaxy. Just sayin.

I do sincerely wish people would stop referring to Galaxy as "malware" as that is a very specific definition for very bad software. Galaxy is PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program) at worst, and a decent client at best. Malware causes actual harm to systems, which as far as I have seen, Galaxy definitely doesn't. Hyperbole only goes so far before people stop hearing you. When you later complain about actual malware on your machine, no one will take you seriously because you consider the client to be such.

I wouldn't call it: "bit much" I'm here for games, not clients.

Suit yourself, outcomes would have still been the same. Just to clarify I get re-downloading the installers if they weren't clean installers for backups or whatever, but not even checking them or even using them long enough to install your game without Galaxy while waiting for the clean installer to re-download is what I mean by "a bit much".

Eh let's just delete them... it's your time and bandwidth though, so more power to you I guess.

How about "way to late to the party"-ware

For all the hoopla around GOG Galaxy, GOG have delivered almost none of the actual 'game changing' things they said was coming nearly 2 years ago.
