Densetsu: It isn't, but it's the right era.

ZFR: The era when cavemen hit dinosaurs with clubs?

(or do you mean early DOS era?)

What's the point-of-view in this game? Side scrolling? First person? Isometric?
It's actually both, but I thought it was too much for an early clue. The story unfolds in the era when dinos got clubhit and release year matches that of Prehistorik.

It's a side-scrolling point of view.

That's the one. Your turn.
Our grandpa is missing amd we will have to find him! We still remember the story he told us about his glorious days and this one battle where he faced his former friend alone. Too bad we are constantly on the run as his kidnappers are at ours heels...

What was the reason of the divide between your grandfather and his former friend? And what can you tell about these kidnappers?

Grandpa didn't tell us exactly. We only know that his former friend became evil and asked our grandpa to join him. He refused and faced him alone.

To be honest we only assume that he has been kidnapped but we are sure he is missing. And we assume it is his former friends and his lackeys who are guilty of this.

Is there any reason not to appeal to police force, FBI even (kidnapping)? It's not US country, then what? Perhaps it's a completely different era or universe, maybe?

Nope, almost not at all. There are a few humorous references to Star Wars but that's it :)

Good enough. Could you please describe a bit about "us" people. All we know is that your grand father is missing probably due to wrong doings of his former friend and also his lackeys (bad person, not grandfather). How many of these people are participating in avoiding the pursuit? Who is/are the main protagonist(s)? And how do they plan to avoid bad people and at the same time to rescue or investigate the missing of their grandfather? Most certainly villains are too dangerous to meet.

Sooo... we are two sisters which miss the grandpa. One of us is a nerdy-scientist type and the other is silly-engineer type. We hire a bunch of guys and gals to help us but they are not really important. We don't know yet how to rescue our grandpa or even how to look for him. We do know that the enemy is at our heels so we constantly have to be on the run. In the meantime we try to get better equipment and find some information how to avoid our enemy better and of course we have our eyes open for any hint about the grandpa.
Can't find the game, please give us a hint.

Cadaver747: Can't find the game, please give us a hint.
We pilot a spaceship and hire crew to operate weapons and craft new items. We have to run from one galaxy to another but each time we have some time to explore nearby planets.
By now I'm confident that I never played or even saw this game, but I don't want to resort to a search engine. There's no fun in winning this game that way. So I will continue asking for tips anyway and maybe they'll help someone else.

What genre is this game? And how do you use the sisters' skills? Do you build things with the engineer or hack computers with the nerdy girl?

Also, how old is the game? You don't need to provide year of release but just saying "mid-2000" or that sort of hint will be enough, I hope.
