there is also a smart steam emulator.
I mostly use these two for my need to play dvds/steam games that I have.
CODEX or PLAZA or GOG all use script based installers. Some of them use more than 2 software.
Like GOG uses inno setup for making it's installers.
You can also use winrar or arc for archiving your games.
Cracking is a tricky thing. It might not be illegal to crack a game you own but if you give it to a friend then it's piracy.
TBH it's not worth it as it's time consuming and cpu intensive.
