Hello,
I'm the author of the Fall of the Dungeon Guardians. (proof, for our conspirationist friends => steamcommunity.com/app/409450/discussions/0/492379439675344148/ ;-) )
Thanks to people who have voted on the GOG wishlist, I surely hope it'll help ! :-)
However, even if I'm not sure of how GOG made their decision, DG is a bit more niche than other Dungeon Crawlers, because it's actually a tactical combat game merged with a Dungeon Crawler ; ie: players who don't like to use their brains for their fight won't enjoy the game to its fullest.
People who do usually prefer Dungeon Guardians over Grimrock, though.
@Vythonaut,
LOG1 was released in 2012, before the Indie apocalypse and its 150-200 new games released monthly on Steam. It made to the best sell spot on Steam.
LOG2 was released last year and it fared way less well, although still much better than Dungeon Guardians. :)
@mindblast,
TE2013 was released on March 2015 on Steam, so a bit less than 9 months ago. And I can't complain about its sales as it's actually a very old game with a low budget.
So far Dungeon Guardians is selling almost 3 times better than TE2013, but I have no idea if it'll last or not, so it stresses me a bit, especially as a lot more effort went into it than in TE2013...
@Maxvorstadt,
it'd be an excuse for what ? I think I'm not authorized to copy/paste their answer (they ask for discretion), so I rephrased a bit what they told me, but I didn't change the meaning.
@Leroux,
DG is pricier than LOG1, but cheaper than LOG2 (ie: 20€ vs 15€ & 22€), while DG requires about the same number of hours to finish than LOG2, with about the same world size, a bigger bestiary but significantly less environments, and more re-playability if you dig the combat system.
