I am torn about visual novels. There are a lot of interesting ones that will be getting localized soon which I would definitely be interested in checking out. So it would be cool to have them here. Maybe if they start getting in the best sellers lists on Steam, GOG will change their mind. However, I would much prefer to play them on Vita since to me it is like reading a book and the handheld format feels best, so I am more hoping for vita releases instead.

Also, after taking a look at some of the bundle websites listed in the deals thread, I am so glad that GOG pursues a curated approach. All that shovelware, looks just terrible. As long as they keep the point and click adventure games coming then I will continue to wait for their releases here and not support Steam.

Keep GOG pure and curated.

On another note, does anyone know why we haven't seen Undertale here yet? There is a DRM-Free version on Humble so it seems like there should not be a problem.

But... they've already rejected several P&C adventures.

Dunno about Undertale, but there's always the possibility GOG rejected it (before becoming the huge success it is know). That's the risk when evaluating pre-released games. And Undertale could very easily have been considered another rpg-maker shovelware game (even if it's not an rpg-maker game).

I suppose that is a possibility. I hope there is another chance, otherwise I will just wait until it goes on sale at Humble to pick it up. The only adventure game that I know they rejected is Alpha Polaris, which bums me out. What other ones were rejected?

Then there's also Nordic's The Mystery Of The Druids and 15 Days.

During the kickstarter for The Journey Down I remember them saying they'd got rejected. But GOG doesn't usually bring episodic games, so I hope the try again after it's finished.
(ok, an answer from Skygoblin from their kickstarter: "We've been wanted to be on GOG for a long time but they rejected TJD early on because the trilogy wasn't complete. Hopefully that will change once the full trilogy is done!")

There propably a case to for all the new indie adventures released DRM-Free in humble but no here: Tormentum, Alum, Sunset, Contradiction, AR-K, Detective Grimoire, Fire!, Knee Deep, The Novelist, Tengami, etc.

And then there's also the adventure games from publishers on GOG that GOG doesn't seem very interested in...

Lately GOG has released quite a lot of indie games (there used to be a public spreadsheet by JMich about releases but I forgot the address), many more per time period than before. I wonder if this means that the acceptance policy has changed and the threshold has been lowered or if it means that more games have been produced and GOG didn't change the acceptance policy.

Another frustrating thing about this: GOG rejects games where the GOG and Steam versions would be equal, but releases and continues to sell games where the GOG version is inferior.

Many thanks. Maybe my impression is a bit mistaken. The increase is visible but not extremely strong. 52 releases in March and April 2015. 68 releases (30% more) in March and April 2016.

From the beginning of 2015. until May 19th same year we had 128 releases. And from 2016. until today, 142 release (including in-dev games - since they are listed under GOG new games tab). Not much of an increase thus far.

Okay, WTF?!? This game to me looks better than the current InDev rehash of MoO.

For certain I won't be buying MoO4 or whatever they're calling it, but I'd consider Predestination.

Thanks. I almost thought I'm the weird one. I mean I usually am but not so much in games. Whomever pressed the "reject" button for Predestination should REALLY reconsider. Even the presence of MoO here does not influence this. If MoO is good ppl buy it; if not ppl wont. If ppl will buy Predestination instead they will, but not on gog if its not here.
