Same here 0.1 MB/s
Same problem, I'm getting speeds from 0.0 MB/s to 0.3 MB/s
To say the download on GOG Galaxy is slow, is like saying the grand canyon is a little spacious. This is abysmal. I've been downloading the Witcher 3 preload for close to 10 hours and it's barely on 1.7 GB of 27 GB. Yes that's one point seven gigabytes!

They desperately need to improve the download speed. I fear that the download may not be done before the official release date.
like I said in other thread. Im getting it at 22MB/S using GOG Galaxy.
So if you ask me I must say they got really fast servers.
Similar problem as the others in this thread.

I reduced the number of connections to 1 and minimized the client to the notifications bar. It got a little better for a while getting up to 0.4 MiB/s, but it's back down to <0.1 MiB/s now. I'm watching it using Resource Monitor rather than the actual Galaxy client. I'll change it back to the default of 10 connections since it didn't seem to make any difference.

Downloading directly from the gog.com site earlier was downloading at close to 1.5 MiB/s, which is close to my max speed.

I'll let it keep running since I'm not really in a hurry and I can always default back to the gog.com site directly.

I also tried looking at the Galaxy client's logs (C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\logs), but nothing has been written to them for hours.
It is clear this a big problem. I normally get 11-12MB/s on Steam and any other client but on the GOG Galaxy Client I can only hit 4MB/s. Sometimes it hits 6.5MB/s. I just checked and its hit 10MB/s. I think you have to wait it took me 13GB to get to my actual download speed.

You must have a 1000mbps fibre connection. I've got a 100mbps fibre connection and yeah it hits 10MB/s most of the time on the Galaxy client but now im 15GB downloaded and it occasionally gets stuck on 0.1

Nha Im on 250Mbit cable internet connection.
The download finnished under 1 hour. It kept at max speed the entire download.
Though I must admit I had it running during off peek hour in Europe.
So most likely that helped a lot.
Yep, from Brazil, all night only got me 16GB @0.1MB/s.

Tested right now with gog downloader and it is sailing along at 3.5MB/s (full link usage)...

Good luck fixing it guys :)

Metaljesus: Hi folks!

I'm currently trying to download The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt via GOG Galaxy ...
The download speed however is crawling slow ...
I have a 75mbit/s connection, yet the client only downloads with 0.1mbit/s. I did a speedtest to see whether my connection is crapy, but nope - 75mbit/s as it is supposed to be...

I live in Austria - don't know where the GOG Servers are located...

Anybody else experiencing extremely slow download speeds or is it just because the download for W3 became available recently?

Best wishes!

EDIT:
Just out of curiosity I would love to know what speeds other people get after minimizing the client.
You have to click the X at the upper right corner to minimize the program to the notification section of the task bar.
about 10 minutes later maximize the window and quickly look at the download speeds.

I noticed that whenever the client is minimized download speeds rise, maximizing the window reduces speeds ...
Would be nice if other people could take a look at that too.
Right now, I am downloading at 0.1 Mb/s from my country, Ecuador ... my connection usually supports 1.0 Mb/s, and I can download faster with Steam or Origin. If I knew this was gonna be this bad, I'd bought it from Origin at the same price :(

Minimizing the client has no effect on speed.
I'm using GOG downloader (currently downloading in full speed) for now, since it's too slow with the Galaxy. I hope this problem will be solved soon, since Galaxy features is good aside from downloading problem..

Destro: - we're currently pushing dozens of petabytes per hour (and yes vast majority of that goes through the Client)
That would require like 1 million people downloading at the same time.

Somehow I doubt that, but if so, that's an amazing amount.
When I did trace the other day the last hop that resolved was in Netherlands so I suspect thier
Europeen servers or atleast some of them are located there. Wouldnt surprise me since many keep
thier Europeen servers there cause its a major hub.
there's supposed to be a day one patch to improve performance and such ...

I hope that by then the slow download issue is solved - would be very comfy if Galaxy did all that for me ;)
well I just bought another game and this is downloading even higher at 23MB/S.

So for me I must say GOG Galaxy works amazing. Atleast if your in Sweden.
I am on 100Mbps fiber connection and couldn't get past 2.2mb/s using gog client .. there are probably thousands of people around the world preloading The Withcer 3 so its reasonable :)
