This thing sucks, it takes a ton of time to update, it's completly pointless. it takes one hour for me to play diablo 1 wtf! this is not a good idea nor a good piece of software.
Hi,

Just wanted to launch GOG Galaxy, but seems there's an update today and it's stuck (50.1 %).

My version (when rejecting update) is : 1.2.51
I checked gog galaxy website to try to install on top of mine, but your file is : 1.2.51.30.exe ...so it's the same I installed previously !

I don't understand !

you wrote on this board latest version as of today is : 1.2.54 ?!?

Something's not right here...

If anyone can help...

thanks

I assume you are unaware that you don't need Galaxy to play games on GOG, just launch the exe directly and you won't have to wait at all. Having said that, I have never had an update take more than a few min.

They haven't updated the link yet, however, this should be the correct download:

The 2019 March 14 Galaxy update (1.2.54) doesn't list, in the update dialog, any changes for the update ('No new changes'). As such, I've declined the update.

Searching here, I'm glad to see there are improvements made to Galaxy; I would've liked this update log to be written in the Galaxy update dialog, too. (Previous versions of Gog Galaxy do properly show a changelog)
How long must I still wait for the full screen option in the gog client trailers...?
i think they should change it from gog galaxy to gog. steam for example is called steam, same with the battle.net app being called either blizzard app or battle.net app. not some fancy name.
What the heck are Wistia videos?

Love Galaxy, BTW. It's 90% how I interact with GOG.

You have beta updates enabled which is why the changelog was empty since there was no new update for beta users.

Another thing the window title is "GOG Galaxy x.x.xx BETA" no matter what version you have installed when beta updates are enabled. Version 1.2.54 is obviously non beta now so why do i have BETA in my window title? This should be changed to something like "GOG Galaxy x.x.xx - public BETA enabled" or there shouldn't be any mention of beta at all if the currently installed version is not a beta version even when beta updates are enabled.

I don't think you can use YouTube in China, so I believe it's for China users so they can see trailers and stuff.
well done.

Oh, cool. Gotcha. Thanks.
I've noticed GOG seems to be hiding the installers and pushing users towards Galaxy which seems to be putting users off, and a lot of people are beginning to view GOG *as* Galaxy, i.e. a Steam clone.

I would strongly recommend reversing this decision and display the offline installers more prominently, it is the great strength of this storefront over all the others.
New here so be kind.
If I purchase a game from the store, how do I know it will be compatable with my PC?
Is there somewhere to view the requirements?
Kind regards.

The requirements are listed on the store page for whatever game you might want to buy.

I take it you a haven't been around in a long time? This method is vastly perfered to what they use to do which was bundling Galaxy with the installers.

The simple fact is most people use Galaxy, and most people want what Galaxy offers (ie cloud saves, achievements, etc.), and (according to GOG) support was getting a lot of extra tickets due to people downloading offline installers and not understanding they need Galaxy for those features. So GOG decided to make Galaxy front and center, and focus less on the offline installers because technical users who can figure out how to use and download them far better than your average PC gamer.

So no the current concept is fine and doesn't need to change at all.
