2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

nope ...they are on your accout. If you use Galaxy, just copy over your old games folder and use "Scan and Import" else just download again.

brilliant...thanks dude.
I just installed The Witcher 1 from an old backup installer, possibly from before the March 2017 update issued to it, but Galaxy didn't auto-import it after installation. So I went to the game entry and told Galaxy to import its folder, which ended in failure. However, now all the buttons related to the game have been greyed out, that includes the green Install button, and the import folder button. Not even able to see the changelogs.

You can see how the issue looks like here.

Until a solution to this issue is suggested, I'm also open to ways to track the time I spent in the game, since the game doesn't seem to have such a feature pre-built into it.

I'm unwilling to download the new installer, as it's an 8GBs download for what is essentially a simple Galaxy-focused update.

I understand not wanting to download 8GB again. Unfortunately, I've seen Galaxy "reject" older installers in just this fashion in the past, and I don't know any solution but to download again. You may want to give it a pass.

I don't know what kind of time-tracking you're looking for, does it have to be shared thorugh Galaxy? There's plenty of time-tracking software out there for personal purposes.

Could possibly be related to this:

Well known issue with old installers. Only fix is to rename the game folder to the correct name used in the Galaxy repo's. I don't have it installed though so I'm not sure what it is exactly or even if what you have is wrong. May have to ask someone that does have it installed via Galaxy.

Blackdrazon: Hohiro's probably right, even though downloading something that big is a chore. I've seen Galaxy "reject" older installers in just this fashion in the past, and I don't know any solution but to download again. One hopes the newest wave of installer updates might put an end to this, but I don't think anyone's made any promises.
Wouldn't deny that myself; I find new installers to just get added to Galaxy straight after the install and, for even newer installers, not need any additional downloads. Older ones may get added to Galaxy but then it will request a download, and then we have The Witcher case here.

Doesn't have to share times through any piece of software; I can simply share that manually. All I really want to know is how much of my life I wasted enjoying The Witcher.

Wouldn't be surprised if the rename was all it needed: read the other day that Galaxy installs the game to "The Witcher Enhanced Edition" while the installer by default installs it to "The Witcher Enhanced Edition Director's Cut". Will try your suggestion and let you know if it works!

In case you want to try BKGame's solution, EDIT: Whoops, looks like you already saw!

I'm afraid I don't have any that I use myself, but if anyone else knows, hopefully they'll speak up. In the meantime, I'd just check Google for "time tracking software" or "game time tracking" or whatever.

Indeed, it failed to work, even after a restart.

Actually if I kept the code safe, I would have one lying about that I coded, although the implementation relies on polling which uses more processor power if it's told to track times for a good list of programs, but I suppose that'll do in the meantime - again, assuming I find it.

Just to clarify, did you uninstall it from Galaxy... reinstall from the installer, rename, start Galaxy then re-import it?

Can't uninstall it from Galaxy since all the buttons are greyed out. I can probably reinstall it from the installer though, but I'd have to research backing up my save files first.

Try to uninstall it from control panel. This probably won't work unless you clear it from Galaxy first.

Yeah, I should try that, since Galaxy is stubborn and I don't know how to directly modify its local databases.
