2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

TheTomasz: we have released a new version of GOG Galaxy 1.2.42 Beta.
[Windows] Several Improvements in rendering of Galaxy icon

---

Still looks like the same old pixelated icon to me. I wonder how long you are going to try to polish this icon that's never going to look any better before you realize Galaxy needs a new icon without text that looks clear at small sizes ie 16 x 16 and 32 x 32 specifically.
Fix the international payments system already!

I've already raised this several times before, but I am doing so once more, because clearly it isn't something that the Devs give a toss about, but should be an easy fix.

Instead of charging you in the currency of your choice, Gog Galaxy charges you in the currency of your IP address. By way of example, if you travel overseas and you want to buy from GOG using your regular credit card, you will find that unless you are using a VPN, you won't be able to do so.

It is trivially easy to test this with any worldwide VPN system. Just change your location, go to the checkout and you'll see that your funds have defaulted to your IP location. Today, I could have bought games in Australian, Norwegian, or US currency.

I love that GOG lets you pay in your local currency, but this is frustratingly stupid and should be an easy fix. We live in an international world, where more and more of us are either traveling overseas, or using VPNs that default to another location. Even more importantly, for countries like Australia and the US that share the term "dollar" for their currency, it only creates confusion about the price that is being paid.

It is incredibly ham fisted that people should have to use a VPN to buy a game in my local currency when traveling., or that using a VPN screws around payments via Gog Galaxy.
GOG Galaxy bundled software is slowing down games, causing crash and freeze. I found out through a tech that GOG galaxy files is causing the game to crash and freeze up.

I tried uninstalling GOG galaxy and the crash still happens. GOG is bundling galaxy with all software, if you use GOG galaxy or not. HIdden bundled software is DRM MALWARE!

REMOVE this bundled software now! I will not buy any more software from GOG until REMOVES this bundled software. Please join me and mail GOG your complaint.

I have all games firewalled, so no data can be sent without my permission. Zone Alarm is good free firewall to block game access to internet.

'galaxy64.dll' is file you will need to delete. If you need force delete it, using 'wise software' 'force deleter'. This file remains after uninstalling GOG Galaxy.

On the other hand, prices are changing as well and you pay the amount that is norm to your current IP. This way GOG works just as a retail store.

Also why does it matter what currency you are paying? You will be charged in the currency of your bank account with the exchange rate that is hard to notice for stable currencies (I'm frequently using my USD card to pay EUR prices in EU and don't have any problems).

That is your problem, and this isn't the first time this has been brought up. It isn't DRM at all and isn't likley to change since it has been known for a long time now. Developers supporting Galaxy features include files that games need to correctly function with Galaxy, regardless if you use Galaxy or not. The vast majority (I would even bet 99% of GOG users) will never experience this issue so it's unlikley to matter to most GOG users.

My best guess is that artificially blocking what the games tries to connect to while having an active internet connection messes up the game which doesn't know how to handle it and crashes. However disabling programs like Zone Alarm and disabling the internet causes no issues because games know how to handle any errors or exceptions due to lacking an active internet connection.

Another GOG user posted a more detailed overview of this issue, which they say is due to the firewall restricting access to localhost (127.0.0.1) and it supports what I'm thinking as well. In GOG's view this not a bug becuase you, buy choice, used third party software (in this case Zone Alarm) that interfered in how the game works.

@Galaxy Team: There seems to be a decent size "time lag" if you will between exiting a game and how long takes for your profile to not show as in-game. I can exit a game and still be shown as online playing a good time afterwards.

I have noticed the delay as well. Sometimes it doesn't even register at all.
So I've had a problem loggin in through Galaxy for months now. It's minimal, but annoying.

Either A:
I enter my information, press enter, and the same box asking for my info comes up, as if I hadn't done it right before.

Or B:
I enter my information, press enter, and a box appears with options to change my profile pic, password and something else I forgot.

In both cases I have to click outside of those boxes, get the unlogged in Galaxy into focus, then click on 'Connect Now' or something to log-in successfully. It happens often enough that I'm used to it now.
Hello I am new user here, GOG Galaxy is nice software. I bought Witcher 3 and want to download it. It is 33GB download when I download through GOG Galaxy. I live in a place with lot of power cuts so I lose my downloaded data. There is no resume support in the software like on steam? I guess I will have to download normal classic launcher from the website (sadly I can't use any download managers like uGet with it).
When I open Galaxy, it appears too large and cannot adjust screen size, help?
my gog galaxy cant seem to connect to the internet all of a sudde. Is this a recurring issue? Any suggestions?
Ever since 1.2.42, GoG Galaxy is completely non-functional for me. It just shows a blank white screen. If I wait a really long time, it turns into a blank black screen, which is not a meaningful improvement. I've completely uninstalled Galaxy, including the assorted directories listed in the help article, and then re-installed Galaxy, and it still doesn't work.

It's quite frustrating, so now I'm just leaving it off my system. Pity, it was a convenient way to install games, but if it doesn't work at all, it doesn't work at all.

If you wish, you can click "monitor" on the issue here (log in to http://mantis.gog.com first):

Another user reported the same thing.

Two questions for you: do you log out before closing GOG Galaxy? Do you have the option "Keep me logged in" unchecked?

I cannot reproduce this in any way. :(

This might be an issue that we have a fix for, which will be released very soon. Please wait with report until new version of GOG Galaxy. :) 1.2.43 (not beta)

BuggyBoii: There is no resume support in the software like on steam?
Hi and thanks for checking GOG Galaxy!
Galaxy does have a resume system which should work in typical cases (like closing the application or pausing download manually) in such cases we expect data loss to be up to 100MB (usually significantly less). In the case of hard power cutoffs the loss in data my be larger due to many factors like the size of file that is currently downloaded, the way the particular game build is constructed and more.
In the case of Witcher 3 and power cutoffs I've seen data losses up to hundreds of megs, which is higher then we would like it to be, but we hope it shouldn't ruin the experience even in extreme conditions.
Note in the case of download breaking, we have to balance between not losing data, having fast download and keeping GOG Galaxy responsive. This is why we've accepted that some data may be lost in order to keep the general experience smooth.

Did your download resumed after power loss or you had to restart manually? After actual download is started (which is indicated by a status and the download speed higher than zero being displayed) it should always resume, even if some data were lost. Please let us know if that wasn't the case for you.

My download just restarted downloading, it reset. I had downloaded about 4gbs.
It is okay I used another Laptop to download Classic Launcher and then copied it to my PC. I am so glad that the files were divided into small parts 4gb each for easier downloading in Classic Launcher.
