== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

That's my thinking but I would love to be wrong and see it released as soon as possible. It's already been far to long. Besides who doesn't have Gwent (as a beta) now anyway... practically everyone is playing it by now. Having it out before Gwent so we can avoid the somewhat buggy roll out that was Galaxy when Witcher 3 released. Not the greatest ideal to be rolling out what I assume will be major changes with many new features right before a big game release. Letting us get a month or two of testing in to fix major issues (which we know there will be) would defiantly make it a much more smooth release.

---

Anyway someone really needs to rework Galaxy's offline mode and how it re-connects after losing an internet connection. For one games need to restart downloading on their own and preferably not lose much data progress once connection is re-established. The other night this happened (lost connection during download) and after manually resuming the download it started out at nearly 50% less that where is was before Galaxy lost connection. To say I was not happy is an understatement.

Also when connection is lost Galaxy will display the big blue connect button which when clicked does not immediately reconnect. It would be nice if Galaxy could better handle reconnecting on its own without input from the end user as well.

There is also an issue after losing connection were certain game pages will be connected or the store will load fine but other game pages will still show the blue connect button even after re-connection has been established.

An offline mode would also be nice... similar to Steam were you can manually set Galaxy to be offline without having to manually disconnect your internet.

IMO, galaxy can DIAF.
download speeds suck.
Experienced a crash last night with 1.1.28 (w/ preview updates)... first crash I've had in a long time.

1.1.28preview here also, haven't had a hard crash yet per se however I exited the program and had it secretly stick around in the background with 4 different processes requiring manual termination before being able to start it back up. Could be related issues. Only happened once so far though so nothing useful to report yet.

Possibly... I was in the middle of downloading a game when it bit the dust.

skeletonbow: I mistook Mr. Bear's left display for being the new UI for GOG chat and almost crapped my pants that the Galaxy client would finally have the friend list integrated into the right side of the main UI as a pane. Only moments later after trying to zoom in for more details did I realize it isn't Galaxy client but rather discord. I've been duped! :)
I also did that, for a moment I thought hmm this doesn't look bad. If there is one thing I'm wanting to see in Galaxy more than anything it is a UI overhaul. I'm been even less thrilled with the UI since they changed it and moved settings and added the GOG COM logo... for one it STILL looks like crap (blurry/pixelated) even after reporting it numerous times and two I think having a logo within the client is unnecessary and detracting... we all know we are using Galaxy by GOG. Remove the logo from the titlebar as well, it also looks like crap. This is literally a setting in Visual Studio, takes two seconds. Sigh one day I hope.

Yeah, the UI was a "good'nuff" first start for a new client and leveraging the existing website design was probably smart for getting something out there rapidly, but it's long overdue for an overhaul IMHO also. The storefront is fine being in lock step with the main website, but the library view on the website serves one set of purposes, but in a client it serves different purposes on top of that which a UI catered to usage case is warranted IMHO. I've got a feeling that major UI changes are the last thing they're prioritizing any time soon though. I'm guessing that the majority of their development is focussed on back-end stuff that runs on the web server farm that we never see up front first hand, and then the APIs that talk to that. Cosmetics are probably their last concern ATM. :/

Probably true, but even some small changes would do wonders in the mean time while in beta. There are lots of little cosmetic improvements that could be made without much development time being spent. Some of which I already mentioned. Regardless I feel the front-end is as important as the back-end if you ask me... I am a firm believer that first impressions matter and it can be difficult, if not impossible, to re-attract end users that you have lost due to first impressions. But maybe that's just me.

You make a very strong point, I have to agree. I'm not sure if they do or not though. :)
I’m not sure if I’m spoiling things (if it’s already posted sorry for the repetition :( ) but there is some strings in the language files of galaxy that mention cloud saves (“GOG Galaxy cloud”) and other new things (bandwidth limits)

I'm not sure if they were there before the 1.1.28 beta but I think it's good to know that a popular request is, at least, in the works.

Maybe it’s related with today’s announcement?

Yeah, I've been trying to tell people that for weeks now but they don't believe it, and even sillier, some people think GOG can't afford hard disk space and network bandwidth to provide cloud game storage, like it would be any different for GOG than it is for Steam, Origin, Uplay, Blizzard etc. :)

There are plenty of breadcrumbs found in strings in the files that accompany Galaxy, and in combination with the almighty GOOG.

:)

Have a look at GOG's twitter page.

Oh, I see. I don't follow this thread too much, I usually only enter to check the changes in Galaxy, since I didn't see any mention about it (at least in the pages I checked) I thought that could be interesting or even new for someone... I was wrong :(
I have the gift of foresight and I can tell you that on (March 22nd, 2017) this shall be the Changelog called 1.1.29

Changes:
- Changes in downloading mechanism, which allows for better control over download's flow
Bugfixes:
- Fixed displaying progress of differential patches (It did not display the "Extracting" status)

Seriously though, why is a future update being shown early, is it a preview one?

I hope that means we get a download throttle soon.

Galaxy absolutely murders my connection when it's downloading anything, even worse than Steam used to.
