== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

========================================================================================

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

What am I missing here?

Say I want to view the Quest for Glory 2 Manual.

1. On QFG2 page, click More icon (or down arrow on the left)
2. Click Backup and Goodies
3. Click Manuals
4. Wait for 28 MB(!) file to download
5. Click on on arrow where the download used to be
6. Click tiny magnifying glass icon - Explorer window opens to the 1Downloads\quest_for_glory_2 page where the's a zip file.
7. Double click the zip file
8. Double click quest_for_glory_manuals folder inside the zip file
9. Finally click on the manual I want (out of 5).

Reboot computer (or just restart galaxy) - have to go through steps 1-9 again, unless I remember to manually browse to D:\GOG Galaxy\Games\!Downloads\quest_for_glory_ because there is no link to it from inside Galaxy otherwise.

Preferred approach:

1. on QFG2 page, click Backup and Goodies
2. Click Manual
3. Manual opens.

Has anyone else been having the Galaxy Client pup up/under other windows after it's minimized to the system tray?

Hi Kalirion - the Backup and Goodies button is specifically for downloading file backups, which is why it creates a new one every time. You can find the Manual by going to More -> Other -> Manual.

The Other menu seems to work with a lot of PDF or TXT formatted, Manual- and Reference Card-style documents, but there are definitely exceptions in the form of other goodies. You're right: GOG definitely should at least put in a link to go to the downloads folder in Galaxy itself for each specific game. It's kind of a piss to have to go dig for the folder every time you want to find its antiquated copy protection and feelies just to play the game.

Ah, cool, thanks! I wish it had the same for other Goodies then.
Is the overlay already in the latest built? I have never been able to access it, a pop-up telling us how to access it would be nice.

Also, is 1.1.20 the preview built or the latest built? Because I'm thinking that maybe I installed the preview without realizng and it might be the source of my game tracking issues. I assume it is possible to uinstall the client without uinstalling the games, right?

It is in the latest preview build. You can open it with "shift+tab". Be aware that it probably won't work yet for every game and for the moment it only works on Windows systems :-)

I re-downloaded the software from the official page to get out of the preview, but the version linked in GOG.com IS the 1.1.20 :(

And yes, I think I saw that somewhere, but I didn't got it to work in any of the games I tried, maybe I should try it in some of the new games from the sale.

1.1.20 is the latest built so you don't have overlay. To enable previews, go to your Galaxy settings and check the option to receive preview updates.
Is anyone else getting Galaxy randomly popping up? When I've minimised it to the tray it'll start flashing the icon and showing the window after maybe ten or twenty minutes of not using it (I've not timed it),

I've taken to closing the client when I'm not using it to prevent this annoyance.

Selecting preview still gives me version 1.1.20 :( That's why I was confused as to wether it was the current stable built or the preview one, since in the bug reporting page it only lists as far as 1.19

Oh, I hope they add it to the bug reporting link soon then, since the lack of game tracking makes the Galaxy client pretty much pointless right now.

Hm, I usually keep Galaxy maximized while running, so I can only guess, but: the only time I've known Galaxy to flash the icon is when I get a forum reply or a message in chat. Is that happening to you? It would show up next to your account name in the top right.

Not new notifications no. I do have some old forum replies that I never read and can't get rid of because they're too old.

me! but I thought that this glitch was because... another glitch, the phantom chat notification(*). But if you don't have that glitch too then is other thing. Sorry for my bad english

(*) that's because some scammer whose account was deleted chat with me but i didn't read his chat (because i was off or whatever) then when his account was deleted the chat notification stills. Seems like that guy was spamming asking for "trade" .
