Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

ELFswe: Hm, I keep getting server problem when a file have finished downloading and it gets deleted when that message has popped up. It doesent matter what game or file I download.
I think I got the same problem - Galaxy client showed a message "Server fail" or something like that.
Opened GalaxyClient.log file and figured out that the problem is the same folder for temporary downloads and backups & goodies.

That's it:

2016-08-28 08:24:52 [Information][SubSystem installer thread (3)]: Moving F:\GOG Games\Downloads\obduction\obduction_manual.zip to F:\GOG Games\Downloads\obduction\obduction_manual.zip.

Note - Galaxy tries to move file to it's current location and fails to do so. I think we just cannot open the file for input and output simultaneously.

Since I changed path to the temporary downloads folder everything works just fine.
So, If anyone got the same problem - you probably should check Galaxy settings, assuming that setting the same path for "Temporary game download folder" and "Download backups & goodies to" is a bad idea.

The two are not mutually exclusive however. One can feel wow factor and simultaneously say "it's about time they added that". :)

BKGaming: It is. However one needs to remember Galaxy is not competing against the Steam of old... Galaxy is competing against Steam of today. That's all that will matter to any potential Galaxy users.
Indeed, as they add new features and work the kinks out though, more and more people will deem it "good enough" for general use even if it lacks other features they want. Much like anyone using it right now such as ourselves. The list will get longer over time I'm sure.

Galaxy seriously needs an option to translate the username to something else user-defined to the games that desperately think its hip to pick the shop-platform username for ingame characters. First No Mans Sky and now my Emperor in the new Master of Orion. For me it ruins these games.

Its ok if its just an account reference like in Dying Light; the character has a defined name in there so it does not bother. But the other thing annoys me so much that I'd rather type annoying posts like these instead of playing these otherwise good games :(

An option would certainly be fine, but it's most definitely the games' fault that there isn't a simple "Enter your name" field in them. (Not saying it isn't annoying, just that it's unfortunate.)

I agree with that and I do not blame gog at all. But I guess the way they read out the account name would be more or less the same regardless of company (ab)using it. So I'd guess if gog has some kind of account name display field in each game (or at least each with such a fault) that could make sure that future virtual generations does not have to praise the name of <insert worst account name you can imagine in here>.

Yeah, changing the temp folder fixed it. Must be a patch I've missed.

Sorry, but thats a stupid solution; no service would change the name depending on what game I'd like to play now (even if, they won't do it instant). Also I might have said it before: The user being used as account name ingame would not even bother me as abstract account name definition if not for the push as a character name.

With Master of Orion the good thing is that it might indeed be an unintentional bug since you have to type a leader name before starting a session; its just that then it shows something different; another player even reported it showing his computers name.

This had nothing to do with GOG. In NMS you are an explorer, you are the same exact explorer as every other explorer. My explorer is the same exact explorer as your explorer. This isn't Skyrim or Fallout and shouldn't be confused as such. It's not designed to be a role playing game (though it of course can have role play elements).

In Master of Orion. You can pick a leader name for single player as a custom race. When playing online you are still anothername and I'm still BKGaming.

Your complaining about a design choice. You were not meant to have a name in NMS. You a nameless explorer. Even when using Galaxy and your account name is used for online play. This is not a character name. This is an account name used for online services.

Your confusing the two and really complaining about how the game was designed. Again GOG has no control over that.

As I stated before in an earlier post someone may want to change the achievement unlock banner in Galaxy. The glow effect looks really bad in some games (really noticeable in Master of Orion). I think it would look fine if you kept the purple achievement banner but removed the glow effect from it. I managed to capture a picture of it at any rate. Will also post to mantis.

I'm not giving you crap because you care. In some games I quite like that feature when the game is designed to offer it like Skyrim and Fallout. I'm a huge fan of these games. I love role playing games. I'm giving you crap (slightly) because your posting this in the Galaxy beta thread when only developer can make this sort of change. GOG has nothing to do with it. Galaxy has nothing to do with it. In single player your account is labeled as Explorer. If you play via Galaxy your account is labeled as your GOG account name. This is a design choice the dev has chosen to support online features.

Again in NMS you are not naming a character, this feature does not exist. What you see as a name is used for online features only. It has nothing to do with your "character" as you put it. You again seem to not understand this important difference.

This is like arguing because you can't change your name in The Witcher 3. You are Geralt of Rivia . In NMS you are an unnamed Explorer. In nether case was the game designed for you to pick a name. But both games list your GOG account name when played via Galaxy. When I first load up the Witcher 3, I see BKGaming listed right on main menu. Same as in NMS when I open the start menu.

GOG account name =/= character name.

Sure, there is no "Character Name" field, but its in such a use all over the game that it could be.

And I have not asked gog to change these games (I know thats silly) but to add a feature in Galaxy that communicates another name (... pun not intended) than the account name to them. And I only made that suggestion because MoO was the 2nd game which did that (this time specifically tied to a character) and because yourself told me that a lot more modern games have this taint.

And since gog wants (at least I think so) most if not all modern big games I do think it is not only a big feature for everybody who wants more disconnection between their account and the character they play but also a feature that is a distinct difference to Steam.

(edit: Just to make sure: I have no real problem if it is already separated in game. AFAIR Dying Light is such a case where my account is also used but, thankfully to the narrative nature of it, the character has a different name).

another update! We've released a quick hotfix (1.1.14) to the new update mechanism released in 1.1.13. I'm pretty sure you'll notice decrease in download size for couple games' updates, when patches for those start flying out :)

Library and Shop are broken for me after update to 1.14 (see screenshot). Error of version or some cache issue?

Edit: deleting cache and restarting it fixed everything :)
