== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

========================================================================================

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

I really like the faster startuptimes of beta 1.10
I got to say I am not happy with this so far (No pause button so you can pause mid download, no limiter, at least I could not find one anyway), and after the massive balls up I have just had with TW3 being 41GB in size and it failing to install, I think I will stick to the Gog Downloader until this thing is actually FULLY working. Because it is things like this that can really ruin a persons day. I just want to download, install, play and chill. Nothing more nothing less. I dont want to spend hours upon hours roaming the web to try and find a fix for this, only to spend more hours attempting to fix it. I am too tired for this.

Denezan: No pause button so you can pause mid download
There is a pause button. Click on the arrow in the queue on the bottom left, click "Pause All".

avatar
Denezan: no limiter
The limiter is a bit harder to find, since you need to modify the registry. I think there was a post here about how to do that, let me look for it.
Edit: Here it is.

I'm getting tired of the inexplicable CPU usage I get from this client. It often takes 4-10% of my CPU (i5 4690K) just idling in the background. Not updating, not doing a thing. Steam, Origin, and even Uplay don't do that (Battle.net is crap, too, though).

Please figure this out. I'd like to leave it on in the background to update my games automatically, but I refuse to waste CPU cycles on it like this.

Also, add freaking download speed cap options. Even Uplay has that crap. (sorry, I'm not digging in the registry for it, give me a break)

These are being looked into. If it's going to bother you this much, just come back to Galaxy when it's fully released.
For some reason my galaxy client is not saving my preferences anymore after the last build (1.1.10) . I change the preferences (Like start the client in my library instead of the shop), click "ok" and save. If i close galaxy and open again, all my changes are lost and i have to configure it again?

- I allways start galaxy with admin rights.
- Galaxy is installed out the windows protected area. E:\games\GOG

Any hints to make galaxy persist my preferences change?
Thanks.
Um, not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I have an "unread message" stuck on my screen because someone changed their privacy options (blocked communications) before I could read it. A "mark all messages as read" option would be nice. It has been a few months now, but I thought I'd mention it as it is starting to bother me having one unread etched message permanently on my account to remind me of what happened every time I open the GOG Galaxy client...

Copy-paste a few posts above:

Make sure you have permissions to modify HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GOG.com\GalaxyClient\settings registry key..

Thank you! I must say that i never needed to do this before. I´m logged as an admin user and i run Galaxy with admin rights. As always as before and never got this error with galaxy. The fact that there is another user with the same issue makes me wonder that there is another thing colaborating to this new situation.

Anyway, regedit it and corrected the values by hand. Created a reg package that i can use anytime Galaxy looses it´s configuration again.

Thanks again for your help!

Again I shall wait until it is fully working. My other problems include slow responses to my actions. I have to wait I dont know how long for it it react to what I have clicked, which means clicking this arrow you speak of to pause all is hard to do when the ui barely responds. It should be in full view on the download page, not on one you cannot see or access without having issues. Also the limiter should be already a part of the downloader, not having to mess about with registry entries to fix it. As it stands, I wont use it anymore until it is out of beta and is fully functional.

Michael1957: What good are settings, if you set it to open in the library and it always starts in the store.

I have no problem with the store, but when you offer the settings option to start with the library, I want to have it open in the library if I selected it.
If you want it to open in the store, don't offer something else.

It works, partly. When I switched on administrator mode, it did work on one PC. It did not work on a second PC.

And I'm a bit puzzled. Why is it going to accept some other changes in the settings, but won't like to work on this setting?

PS I changed the registry. I restarted the PC. The registry still is changed to the new value "Library". Nevertheless, if I start GOG-client and check the settings: it's still "Store". - It keeps ignoring it.
All 3 PCs run Win 7 with latest updates. I'm not a newbie with programming or Windows, but I have no clue.

Hi! Is there any correction for the following issue:
When we have a second page of games in the library, if we go to the second page, it don´t inform the "installed" label. Only in the first page that it appears. I have installed games in the second page, but i have to enter in the game details to see if it´s installed or not. In the first page it doesn´t happen this issue.

Thanks!

There are two registry keys you need permission to modify:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GOG.com\
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\GOG.com\
I am not sure what is the problem to be honest. I am not using windows anymore but still have my win7 installed, with updates turned off for about a year and Galaxy works without any problems there, even latest build.. I'd suspect some windows update if everything worked for you before..

Sometimes shows installed games on other than first page but most of time doesn't : D
I believe it was reported long time ago at mantis..

Done - http://mantis.gog.com/view.php?id=4152

I installed Windows 8.1 directly, I didn't not update from 8.0 - but the Galaxy client is telling me I need to run the 8.0-to-8.1 April 2014 update (Windows8.1-KB2919355?)

Just for kicks I ran the above update and predictably is failed as it doesn't apply to my system.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------

Just an update to my post above, as the galaxy client keeps insisting on trying to update on loading I thought I would have have another go.

I have Windows Firewall Control installed, so know when programs try to access the net etc, but despite allowing the updater to access the net it did its usual fail.

So I disabled the firewall entirely and went and made my self a coffee, during this time the updater had tried and succeeded in updating the client.

But now I am at the stage where I am getting the following error as detailed in the 3rd post of this thread -

"the missing api-ms-crt dlls"

So using info from the following thread I managed to uninstall and reinstall VS_2015_x64 -

but am still getting the missing dll error.
