== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

Changelog 1.1.15 (September 7th, 2016):
Changes / Improvements:
• Added Wallet button in dropdown menu under user's avatar
• Performance improvements on UI speed and a little on CPU usage
• Enabled copying text in Galaxy forums
• History will now remember only the 100 most recent pages in history
Bugfixes:
• Fix for "Disk access problem" bug, which broke installation and updates of games. (Bug happened on Windows only, but general mechanism is better on OS X as well)
• Fix for Verify/Repair, which did not work in some scenarios (The above bug for example)
• Fix for "Server problem" while downloading backup installers or other goodies. They will now work, even if temporary download folder is same as destination folder
• Fixed situations in which Store page sometimes did not load properly after waking up computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

BKGaming: Somehow my Galaxy playtime in Terraria got reset or something. I had like 30 some hours in the game give or take, and now it only shows 4 hours.

Venom: This is a know issue with displaying game time for certain values above 24 hours of gameplay. The data in the backend is not corrupted, and we have a proper count for each user and each game. The bug is only in the presentation layer. It will be fixed with the next update, that will be released shortly.

Both overlay and compressed downloads are currently being tested, no idea if they will be in the next public release or not though.

Hi everyone!

We're pleased to announce a limited release of Galaxy Client with support for a new way of downloading games! After a bit too many months of hard work (sorry for that) we're finally reaching the point where various parts of Galaxy are ready for it. For another, unannounced change that is slowly rolling out we needed to restructure our game downloading (and uploading) architecture.

Apart from the supporting a new way of downloading games, the new release includes compression (installing games from the new system will use less bandwidth), game description on the game view in the client, as well as numerous bugfixes.

One important thing - keep in mind that Galaxy 1.1.6 won't run on Windows XP or Mac OS X 10.8, 10.9. Sorry that we didn't manage to fix it before this release! We're working on a fix, and we should have it before we move out of "preview".

We'd appreciate your input about the new version, so - if you have some spare time - please test it. Info about setting up preview channel is at the top of this thread. If you report any bugs - please report them on http://mantis.gog.com :)

In the next weeks we'll be returning to our regular schedule of Galaxy releases (and Mantis investigations) :)

Hell yeah! Finally an update! :D

Now if only Galaxy could truly be a replacement of the website in every aspect... right now you can't find game keys in your library in Galaxy, nor can you remove users from your friend list.

I have a question - what does it mean if a game is migrated to the "new content system"?
Will it hopefully feature the overlay, like The Witcher 3 up till now?

Edit: Oh, ok. I've found out it's just for compressed data downloading. Pity. :(

By the way, if you have any of the games on the above list, Galaxy is going to do some additional downloading. So far they're small and they'll probably keep being small. I've had 173MB for Witcher 2, 114MB for Witcher 3, and those are huge games. Others didn't seem to need anything at all?

Even if it was large, I wouldn't mind much because the compressed data feature (and hopefully future delta patching?) is going to be worth it. Just be prepared for the downloads as these upgrades roll out, is all I'm saying.

Startup seems dramatically improved, is it just me?

So far liking a lot of this, this fixes a lot of my concerns!

We plan to improve compression even further, to the level of offline installers :) And as you said - hopefully delta patching :)

I'm really liking the improved performance I'm seeing. The Galaxy Client seems to start up faster, and is a bit more responsive on my set-ups now.
