Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

Zizbuka: I'm confused by this. In Galaxy, you can click the down arrow for a game and select "STORE PAGE AND REVIEWS" to go to the Store page.
avatar
skeletonbow: Well, as they say... a picture says a thousand words. Screenshot 1 shows Galaxy with a game selected and the game's library page up for launching the game. No link to the store is present, thus requiring you to have to go elsewhere within Galaxy to find a link to the store for this game, and multiple mouse clicks to get there. It's not that it is not possible to get to the page, it is that it is not convenient or user friendly to get there with a single click for a common thing one will want to do.

Screenshot 2 shows how the similar screen in the Steam client does have a link to the store page, making the same operation much more friendly and easy, without requiring multiple clicks to get to the page.
I've never used the detail game screen in Galaxy. At your library list, there's a drop down menu arrow that has a link to the store page. I wasn't criticizing you, I've never clicked on a game in my library. Just used the drop down. I don't use Galaxy for anything other than installing the games, then I shut it down. I use LaunchBox to launch the games.
The worst gaming client ever created - requiers two services to work in the background! Stop clog up our computers unnecessary rubbish!
Thanks for the work, GOG staff.

JAD2012: @sekeletonbow Could you please answer my question? You seem to be around much helping the users :P Did achievements unlock for you while playing Witcher 3 when you launched the game from Steam?
Yes, all of my achievements were unlocked while playing the game launched via Steam as that was the only way to be able to take screenshots. Kind of sad that in 2016 a video game releases without the ability to take screenshots unless you use a 3rd party proprietary game client or other software to take screenshots, but c'est la vie. :)

TheDarkProphet: I have a quick question that you all might be able to help me with
Does GOG Galaxy client make all games purchased on GOG able to play multiplayer like Steam?
No. Galaxy is just a gaming client which can install games, launch games, update games, and download games as well as provide a front end to the store, friend chat and forums. Galaxy client does not add any capabilities to the games themselves.

The only way a game has multiplayer of any kind is if the game developers add multiplayer support to the game. The only way a game has Galaxy multiplayer support is if the game developers purposefully add Galaxy multiplayer support to their game.

Hope this helps.

I never took any criticism. My comments are just pointing out what I perceive to be a flaw, albeit a minor one in the Galaxy client UI in terms of human interface designs and user friendliness. I believe that it is a very common operation that a person would click on one of the installed games in their library on the left sidebar, then want to navigate to the store from there as a matter of convenience and was just pointing out the lack of such a link as an area where future versions of the client could improve the user interface for a common operation like this. It is true that there are other ways to get to the store page for a given game but I already know how to access the store page for a game in several ways.

This is the beta list though where we provide feedback on bugs, design flaws, and suggest improvements for discussion etc. as well, so I was providing feedback here about what I consider to be a quite minor design flaw which is easy to address in a future update, which is just a minor usability flaw. IOW, it is a suggestion for improvement rather than a support request or problem seeking solutions. :)

Ok, thank you :)
It might be me or my system or both but I never had good luck with downloaded install apps. On one occasion I had to use restore to get the damage one caused to my system reversed. No matter how good they are I just can't bring myself
to try another so I will just have to do things the old fashion way by hand (SIGH)
Sorry to say this, but achievements don't work, either by launching the game with Galaxy or an external shortcut... I tried to make 5 potions via alchemy in Witcher 2 to unlock an achievement and it didn't unlock either way.

Achievements in Witcher 2 didn't work for me either. Maybe they haven't actually been enabled.

It's a bit nebulous. The Archievements work with some games (Pillars of Eternity, Grandia II), but not with some (Ys series, Witcher 2).
I've tried the 1st version of Galaxy and disliked it a lot - used way too long to start up and used an awful lot of resources as well. The current version (1.1.5) is a lot faster and doesn't use so much overhead either.

So far the only problem I have with it is that it's not automatically downloading new patches the moment they are available for download. It takes quite a bit (hours) before it'll download them...

Also wondering if a Linux and OSX version will come later on. Right now I'm running Windows, but I'm seriously considering to hop Linux later this year or the next, and I'd love to have Galaxy available then as well ;)

That's kind of crap, isn't it? XD Oh well...
Hey is there a list of games that have GoG galaxy multiplayer support?I would love to know if any of my games could be played in multiplayer.
I'm not sure why, but GOG Galaxy seems a bit unstable for me today. Just tried to download SUPERHOT twice and both times Galaxy crashed. And the first time it thught it had correctly downloaded the game (even verifying it). Also, apparently downloading it through gog.com is still both easier and faster.

Now I didn't test restarting my computer or redownloading Galaxy, so it's possible that might have helped. It just irks me a bit, is all.

Mostly, I just hope you folks at GOG keep working at making it be as stable as possible because we already had a stable downloading platform (the downloader) and you want us to use Galaxy. So, go forth and give us good reasons to be happy with Galaxy. :o)
Why does importing the game folder work way better than scan and import? I didn't realize this before but clearly importing the folder is a lot better than using the + symbol and then scan and import. Tried using scan/import on the Witcher 3 tonight, Galaxy wanted to download 700 MB for a copy of the game already up to date. Instead I tried importing the folder and kept an eye on the !Downloads folder since Galaxy displays the size wrong when importing a folder, and the download was 28 MB. Big difference when data matters. The import folder feature actually took time to verify what files were already on my hard drive while the scan/import option blew through that in about 2 seconds on a 25+ GB game. Probably the reason the other worked better.

It's already kind of weird Galaxy has two import options, but it's even worse when one works better... the scan/import option also has issues when more than one game is added. It needs to be tested more.
