Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

tfishell: That's very constructive.
Probably as constructive as a hyper-active toddler ripping his way through a sand-castle competition.
How do i delete all the start menu entries in the "all apps" start menu section for Windows 10?

And preferrably without needing to uninstall the games...

I see no option to not create one while installing. The only options are to create desktop shortcut or disable auto-updating.

I can't even find a way to manually delete the entries. Navigating to the start menu folder and it shows no such entries for games installed via Galaxy.

If there is no option whatsoever, then I will say that It's a bit unbecoming to force entries like this given how cluttered the All Apps section already is.

Navigate to the "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" folder, and do a search for "[GOG.com]". The ProgramData folder is a hidden one, so either type the address or enable the showing of hidden folders in your explorer. The Start Menu shortcuts are installed for all users, thus why you don't find them in your user's Start Menu folder.
Not sure if I mentioned it here before but I meant to. The chat system has been broken for me for about 3 weeks now, where basically when I load the page it sits there with a round spinner/throbber nonstop, or it times out after a while. The page loads and sometimes the friend list shows partially but it never fully loads, no conversations are available and I can't interact with it at all. Sometimes the page just remains blank with the spinner also. Anyhow I wasn't able to read or respond to messages since the end of October. Anyhow after hitting reload several times tonight in Firefox the page finally fully loaded and I was able to read and respond to messages. I dunno if it was random chance or if something changed that made it work tonight.

Anyone else been experiencing this problem? I'm using Firefox 43beta/64bit on Windows 7/x64 but the problem occurred with Firefox 42 for me previously also. Similar in Chrome etc.

If things load only partially my first thought would be some connection issues. Is chat the only part that is affected. Do you have any issues with other parts of the store, or downloading games?

EDIT: Sorry, missed the last part of your post about the browsers, so I've removed this question ;)

Naw, just chat works wonky, and the homepage where it should say "Account" while I'm logged in only shows up randomly, but if I click on it it seems to do the right thing. The only other problem I've had with the store is the price shown to me for The Witcher 3 and its expansion changes randomly as I've reported here and in other threads as well as to GOG support several times. I get the Canadian USD price sometimes, and the American USD price other times. If the game shows up in multiple locations on the page at the same time, they might be both Canadian or both American in USD, or one might show the Canadian USD price while the other one shows the American USD price. That was particularly true during the sale but happens all the time for several months and makes no difference what browser is used, cache clear, etc. as well as in Galaxy client. My IP address is for all intents and purposes static and definitely does not change between page loads.

Downloading game backups through Galaxy works fine, as does installing games through Galaxy, but patching games fails due to Galaxy unpacking them onto %TEMP% which is on my C: drive that has 500MB or so free max. No performance probs to the servers though, at least nothing noticeable or regular.

Also, you didn't ask but just for the record, when the "chat doesn't work" problem happens my Internet connection is basically an idle 25Mbps connection so not a saturated link for example. Not sure what the chat problem could be.

Update: I just tried to go into chat in Firefox again and while it took longer than it should to load it did load ok this time too. It's possible the problem is resolved now perhaps, but if it recurs with any notable frequency I'll mention it here again.

I have a question (might have come up before, I'm not going to read 61 pages of comments, sorry):

Why does Galaxy keep asking me for my password? This is quite annoying. It doesn't happen every time I close it and open it up again but it happens way too often. No idea what the deciding factor is, but if it is time based (i.e. not logged in for x days -> ask for password), this time needs to be increased a lot.
avatar
Stto: Why does Galaxy keep asking me for my password?
It should only ask you to re-authenticate if you haven't launched the app in 7 days. If it happens more often than please file a report at http://mantis.gog.com and attach your logs (instructions are posted on mantis), and we will investigate.

Thanks! It's entirely possible that it has been seven days each time. Could you increase that number? Since Galaxy is not needed to launch the games (thankfully), I don't open it that often.

Yes, we actually plan to increase it quite soon to 30 days in the first stage, and than we'll evaluate if it will need further extending.
Hi,
Is there any plan to propose a simpler interface at some point ?
I really think this one is cluttered and confusing to the point where its not really usable.
It works, but I'd like at least the choice of having a clear interface, where every window fits a purpose instead of having everything squashed together.
Great work so far anyway, I use it from time to time and have yet to encounter any bugs with it.
Everything else you do is great and I'm glad your service exists.

It would be nice if you made that configurable even if it was hidden under "Advanced Settings" or even just available as a .INI file or whatever setting. I can speculate the reasons why GOG, Steam, Origin and other similar services that have auto-login features in their clients opt to having it not auto-login after a certain amount of time where it has not been used, such as to protect accounts of people who may have had their laptop stolen or where someone else takes control of their computer locally or something but it's a bit of a wishy-washy security premise IMHO.

Everyone's computer situation is very different, and I for example live alone and am the sole person who uses or ever touches my computer. Nobody else has access to it whatsoever. I leave Steam running at OS startup because I use it frequently enough, however I manually start up Galaxy (mostly because it works best for me that way, but when it is a stable final product I plan to leave it running all the time too), and I manually start Origin/Uplay or other clients only when I need to use them. It's very irritating to be forced to manually enter a password simply because you haven't logged in in a while when you are the only person ever using the computer and live alone, and that if you just left the program running 24/7 someone who had access to the computer could use the account anyway, so the protection it brings forcing people to log in mandatory in such a situation is nil really but it does make for inconvenience.

Worse, it might promote people to make weaker password choices so they can remember them as they have to type it in more often. I myself have a password that is very long random line noise and impossible to remember. Having the client remember it for me frees me of needing to remember it. Having to type it in more often than is truly necessary either means I have to memorize it and dozens of other complex passwords mentally, or use 3rd party password management software (which I do), and then log into my password manager to get my GOG/Origin/whatever password. Sadly, most people don't use such password managers and are simply more likely to pick easy to remember passwords like "bob1234" that are easily cracked by the simplest means.

So I truly wish companies would rethink how they manage auto-login, and at least give advanced users who know more about things the opportunity to configure it to their own liking for convenience. Forcing people to enter passwords too often just fosters poor password quality choices and undermines the security, increasing the likelihood of account compromise.
Are achievement pictures downloaded every time you restart the client and try to view them? Seems like they are as it's kind of slow when I'm trying to look at them for Tropico 5, like there slowly downloading. This is the first game I'm really trying to get the achievements for.

If so can we please like cache these or something by the client so it only loads slowly on the first view...

This is real nitpicky, but the lack of animations for webpages in galaxy really annoys me, in particular the store page. In any normal web browser, is does a shifting animation to the next product and the next color background. I'm guessing this has something to do with GOG's web browser, will this ever be changed?
