Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

Install Visual C++ Redistributable

bioshark: I initially thought the sort order is in the wrong order, but now I see that the "Last Played" value has been emptied. All my installed/played games are now with the tag: "Not yet played"
avatar
Fallen_Zen: We're aware of that, the sort order, last played etc. will be fixed in an upcoming release.
I never doubted you guys. I'm confident this will be fixed in the next release.
I just wanted to help and confirm the bug in case you needed it :)

The new update broke galaxy. Every time I start it I get a grey screen and have to kill the process with the task manager. I'm going to uninstall/reinstall to see if that fixes it.
My personal "wish" for a client were from the start sort of an expanded GOG downloader , meaning an apparatus that could download our games install files to our harddrives for safe keeping and then install our games from our install files from our local storage including downloading to and installing from multiple local directories.
I never wished for the original GOG downloader to be put out of commission but to have extended it's features . My idea were in my mind a client like thingy that could run in both slim mode (e.g. as downloader only) and in expanded mode where where one could use additional features.
GOG and "The French Monk" however must have spotted that a client apparatus needs to have many features like multiplayer , community and shopping to make GOG more accessible to a much wider audience.
Personally I just think that they ought to make the client offer a slim line mode also where it only acts as an expanded *install file* downloader with install ability from downloaded install file collection that would makes it easy for us to to manage our stuff.
I don't mind all the other stuff , I just think that that what was basic stuff for previous GOG core users ought not be buried in slim line mode but in such a mode ought to be elevated to suit the needs of long time GOG users with many GOG games..
Yes , the client offers a lot in the State it is in now , but I think that it ought also support a slim line mode where the interface focus would be more like an original install file downloader and install manger to and from local storage , and not something where we have to click more interface layers to download the install files .
In the present client they have buried the download (of what GOG now calls backup files) in sub pages as they want to offer only the install option directly from the when you click on the arrow that appears when hovering over games in right side client windows view of library , where that makes download of our install files to harddrive storage for safe keeping a hassle using the client (using a browser one can just use right click open in new tab features to avoid some of the clicking back and forth but not in the client. And I personally think that it is a mistake not to offer the for storage download of back files / install files in a much easier way using the client.
As stated , I *do* understand why GOG choose to offer install as "easy option" but I also think that that alienate some people from having what could otherwise be a really great apparatus. Hence my suggestion for a slim line install file / back up file download mode.....
I'm unable to update install any DLCs to The Witcher 3 (Polish version). I'm always getting "installation failed" prompt. Tried with New Game+ and the Skellige Armour Set.
Hi, I recently installed The Witcher3 and this was done with GOG Galaxy, all my older, pre galaxy games disappeared from my library!

Now, I have upgraded my machine, and to my surprise when I installed GOG Galaxy, all my old games wes, pre galay were listed, but none of my new games like the Witcher, for which I spent a substantial amount for season passes etc, and, the same for my other new games (last year or so releases) what do I do now to get my new games back, and keep the older games and their library?

What you're saying makes it sound like you have 2 separate accounts: one with the older purchases (this one) and another one with newer ones. Do you have email receipt for the newer purchases you speak of (Witcher 3 for example)? Please check if it's the same email as the one you use for this account you're posting from.

M4lky: For the love of god PLEASE stop updating galaxy client every 2-3 days - i'm on mobile plan (paing for every MB of transfer) and 90MB every 2 days is killing me... make bigger update every 2 weeks - now this is crasy !!
Not sure what magic version of Galaxy you might have that is getting updated every 2-3 days but I've been using Galaxy since the original alpha and it has not had barely any updates overall for a development release. Weeks go buy without updates often and the changelog is at the top of this post showing how many there have been. It absolutely definitely has not been updated every 2-3 days that's for sure.

Aside from that reality though, this is a beta test not a final product. They develop new code and when they feel confident that it is ready to be tested they are going to put out a new release. It is perfectly reasonable to do that once a month, once a week, once a day, or 5 times a day for a beta. The purpose is to have their code tested and get feedback to improve the product and get it ready for general availability, not to be convenient for people using poor Internet connections. People with poor connections or data rate limitations really should not be using Galaxy if that is going to cause them a problem, and GOG should not delay testing of code just because it's going to inconvenience an extremely small part of the userbase that shouldn't be using it over poor quality connections anyway.

Personally I subscribe to the "release early, release often" methodology have developing software and would be more than happy to see 5 updates per day, perhaps after every successful build in the head branch of their development SCM.

I have opted-in to the early-updates feature to get the updates and test them before anyone else gets them, and I can say even with this, the updates are spaced out quite far apart and not every 2-3 days. Just because it's called "Galaxy" doesn't mean they've optimized it for people with Internet connections slower than the Pioneer space probe though. :)
I have a question concerning the tracking of playtime.

Is there any way for games to track playtime when I launch the game through Steam Big Picture and not directly in Galaxy? Somehow it only tracks time when I start the game in Galaxy
Okay now i am confused the Witcher 3 1.10 patch is supposed to be 6-15GB in size for PC.
Galaxy is now downloading 17GB what is going on?

I had 1.08.4 installed with the overlay which i disabled after i reading the update is coming out today...

GOG Galaxy is having problems downloading the new patch 1.10 for Witcher 3. It says connections failure.
Same problem here. Can't connect to GOG Galaxy and can't download the Witcher 3 1.10 patch.
The servers seem to be overloaded.. we probably just have to wait..
Yeah, we have just to wait for the clusterfuck "galaxy". Even for a beta the client is bad and afair typical beta aka unfinished software is in the 0.x version range ...
Gog annoys me more and more .. the webpage is a buggy mess and the client is even messier. Worst thing is I want to like gog, but I'm better off with other digital download platforms.

My download of The Witcher 3 just restarted from scratch. The download was complete earlier, but I kept receiving an error message when the game tried to install. All my data is still in the GalaxyClient\Games directory, but the client seems to download it all over again anyway. Downloading 34GB takes more than 30 hours for me, so I probably won't be able to play the DLC on Monday. HUGE bummer.

This was my first time trying the GOG Galaxy Client and I have to say I am horribly disappointed. I should have just bought the game on Steam...
