Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

========================================================================================

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

Is there a way to install a patch from the "Game Backup Copy" section and get GOG Galaxy to recognize the game install as the newer patched version without causing an additional game update?

I have tried this with Witcher 3 and Pillars of Eternity, for each game the patch installs fine but the GOG Galaxy updater still insists on installing multi-gigabyte updates afterward.

Specifically for updating Pillars of Eternity from version 2.0 to 2.01 "Install Updates" was set to Manual and "Rollback to Version" was set to 2.01. Starting the game verified that the newest version of the game was installed beforehand.

I used verify/repair to check the game version and this caused an update (4.1 GB).
Restarting GOG Galaxy also sets off an update (4.1 GB). Stopping this update resets the "rollback to version" to 2.0.
Setting "Install Updates" to Automatically starts an update (4.1 GB).
Other question: If I add some files to the install directory manually (for example the user made language patch for Pillars of Eternity) and I verify the current installation with Galaxy, then these files are removed again? Or Galaxy keep unknown files in the file structure?

toxicTom: Seems like game time tracking does not work for The Witcher 3 anymore. I'm stuck at 178h 28m, should be ~200h. I don't know of that's a problem with Galaxy (1.1.1.) or the game 1.08.3 - one of the Witcher patches gave me the "Passed the Trial" achievement, although I've never finished the game.
Game time tracking works for me. perhaps you exceeded maximum ; ) A few months ago Unreal and Stalker stuck for me at 23h.
I have the latest GOG Galaxy. I tried to install the game from dowloaded files by importing the folder where the game files for Witcher 3 are and it still goes on to download 34GB of files! What the hell??? I have downloaded ALL files for the game (in 7 parts) including the patch (in 2 parts). This Galaxy is so rough that it deserves to be called Beta! I am just amazed that I went ahead and installed it! It just is not ready for general use yet! I had a lot of trouble finding how to adjust settings and many are just greyed out. I am going to delete it and wait another year before trying it out again! Maybe some people are happy with it but , honestly, it is just not near enough as good as Steam client!
PS: It downloads somewhere on my pc without telling me where or giving me a chance to choose where to download the files!!! That is just not on!

7PCGamer: When I click on install in Galaxy will it install the game or download the installer. I would be using a different PC for playing, not connected to the internet.
It will install the game, if you need installers please use the "MORE->GET BACKUP & EXTRAS" option

Galaxy does not delete unknown files. But if any files are changed, then galaxy will overwrite them.

Are you trying to import installer backup files? Not going to work. Install The Witcher 3 manually and then import folder with installed game, that's what this function is for.
Downloads games to, that's the place where Galaxy downloads game files before installing them.

werdberd: Any help would be appreciated.
Have you tried starting Galaxy with administrator rights?
Or removing them from launcher.exe file..

Thank you mike_cesara for your reply.
Yeah, I figured it out that I cannot import the folder where the installer files were...Had to manually install the game inside the Galaxy/Games folder.
The little cogg wheel at the left bottom is not a usual place where you look for a setting button!!!
I want galaxy to be as good if not even better than Steam client but it just is not very friendly and not a finished product...The user interface could do with an overhaul!

I haven't tried starting Galaxy with administrator rights, but even if that will work it seems like the real problem is with the Galaxy client. From the log entries I copied, it looks as if Galaxy is trying to elevate privileges and failing to do so for some reason. Launcher.exe run from the Windows shortcut brings up a UAC prompt just fine and after that the game runs as expected.

Regarding your second suggestion, I must confess I have no idea how to remove the need for administrator rights from a file. At any rate, thank you for your reply.

Right click on launcher.exe, Properties -> Privilege Level and uncheck Run this program as administrator.
Did anyone else's Galaxy suddenly, out of nowhere, roll back? I had it updated to 1.1.1 for a while now. A few minutes ago I started the app and it went through an update (looked like there were two of those, one worth around 38 MB, and the next one slightly over 58 MB). When done "updating", Galaxy was suddenly version 1.0.7. Settings for preview updates and for creating game icons on install weren't ticked at that point, though they were before the update.

I closed Galaxy and restarted it two more times, the second time triggering an update to 1.1.1 again. Weird :D

It seems like you've already found it, you wouldn't get preview updates otherwise ; ) Personally I don't have problems with pictograms, they're pretty common.
And I'm quite sure Galaxy will get its personal drop-down top menu with settings, release news and some other useful things soon.

My Galaxy still shows as version 1.0.7.2023. Restarted it once, no change! it cannot even update itself or stay updated... :(
I have most of game settings greyed out. All DLC and extras greyed out! Galaxy auto loaded 7.6GB of ``updates`` when I already have only 1 game installed with all its patches! It does not give me confidence using it...

I hear ya. Just a reminder, this *is* still just a beta, where thing can and will go wrong. Version 1.1.1 is currently a preview build, and as such possibly even less stable than 1.0.7. Nothing wrong with that, that's why betas were created :)

Due to the problems you're having, I'd suggest you forget about Galaxy for a bit, and come back once it's further updated, or possibly once it exits beta.

You are right! I have 1 game installed so far on Galaxy: Witcher 3 and the game will not start! I have tried restarting Galaxy, restarting my pc, verifying/repairing the game files and it just will not start! I have no choice but to uninstall the Galaxy and re-install the game without it. btw, witcher 3 worked fine before without galaxy...
