Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

Just a quick question regarding the friends list functionality and how the client integrates with the rest of the community stuff. I'm not using the client right now, I may a little further down the line but as of right now I've opted out.

Thing is, I have added some people to my friends list on the site. I'm curious as to how the functionality of the client works with this when I'm browsing the forums. For example, I tend to read the forums a few times a day - when I do so, do I pop up as 'online' for the people in their Galaxy clients, the same way it'll say online if I hover over my name on the forums?

gringlas: Regarding the game time issue. As said in an earlier post of mine. On my Mac it counts game time all right and when I click on settings all checkboxes in features are greyed out, but checked. On my windows machine, all checkbox are greyed out and unchecked (see attached screen).
I searched around in registry, C:\ProgramData and my User\AppData folders, but I can't seem to find anyhting to change the setting.
I'd realy like to see that feature work, as this is -as stupid as it sounds - a mandatory feature for me oO
ah ! thank you, i didnt see that checkbox before..
it seems really in "beta" state atm, they should not put the time in there if it doesnt work yet imho.
its just annoying when you believe it works and then doesnt...
do you know any other method of keeping track of the game time, especially in the witcher3 i am curious how much i play..
thanks again

avatar
Nerdmigo: hi guys,
gog galaxy has stopped counting my "time played" for the witcher3 its stuck at 3h 15 m.
anyone got the same problem ?
avatar
skeletonbow: Yep, everyone.

avatar
Nerdmigo: are there other ways to see the play time for witcher 3 ?
avatar
skeletonbow: Nopers, only option is to wait until they fix the bugs and put out an update. Should hopefully be a new build in the next few days if we're lucky as I think it was hinted at last Friday or something.
i am fearing a reset of playtime after the update, or the playtime missing from the previous play sessions before the update.. its gonna be chaos, real chaos :D
but i really like a playtime feature, and with like i meant need.
As other peoples said here its almost mandatory, its what you expect.. so lets wait for an update ^^

Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.
Please be aware that Client will accept any folder pointed to and will overwrite files inside it (this can for example wipe some mods or damage other apps in case of pointing to a wrong folder) and will update the game to the newest version (current default language English).

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- few games are not yet compatible with Galaxy and are marked accordingly on Library page
- back / forward navigation is only available in Store section and requires further work
- pausing downloads or throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- games installed in Galaxy alpha 0.6 that included DLC may require a full game reinstall in the beta
- reinstalling Galaxy (Windows) to a different folder than the initial install will cause an error
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer
- DPI scaling beyond 100% is nor respected on Windows (Client UI will be very small or 4k screens)

Minmataro: When will other games get achievements? Since Witcher 3 now has them enabled im assuming it wont be difficult to at least give games that have achievements on Steam achievements on gog galaxy.
And then some. Can you imagine playing the older titles like Theme Hospital, BloodRayne etc with achievements? Awesome!
bonjours !

Completing Theme Hospital is an achievement in and of itself.

Reminds me that I need to check the current status of CorsixTH...

Hello China!
Downloaded and installed Witcher 3 using the old fashion way (Gog downloader using website), while GOG Galaxy was not opened. (Only testing Galaxy with select smaller games so far).
This still added witcher 3 into the galaxy list of installed games somehow, complety on it's own.
It should not do this.

Also later, when starting playing witcher 3 while GOG Galaxy was shut down. My brother could still see me as online on Galaxy, I also saw my name on the game menu. This really should not happen while Galaxy was shut off.
I had to uninstall Galaxy to be able to play Witcher 3, without being shown online.

My brother has also since uninstalled Galaxy, and this has up to now, reduced his witcher 3 crashes (He has had a lot of crash issued with the game, unlike myself).
I'm not saying this solved it for him though, since he hasn't played it long enough without galaxy yet. But so far at least, no crashes for him.

Runibl: This still added witcher 3 into the galaxy list of installed games somehow, complety on it's own.

It does this because the standalone installers have been updated for Galaxy, so Galaxy will automatically add them if Galaxy is installed. This is so people who use Galaxy but prefer the standalone installer for whatever reason can still have their game in Galaxy without issue. You can still launch the game without Galaxy though.

So basically it's designed like that on purpose...
I can understand that point.
But it still logged me in galaxy, when I launched the game without galaxy. Galaxy was not even on at that point.
hoi
HOLA :)

Sounds ok to me. If you configure Galaxy to install games to a particular folder and then manually install a game in that folder, it's natural to expect Galaxy will pick up the game. But I can understand some people may not like this behaviour. The best way of handling this would be having an option to switch manual/automatic games import.

This is really weird. I've just tested it with Galaxy constantly working. The first time I was logged out, launched TW3 and there was no name at all at the bottom right. Exited, logged in Galaxy, launched again and my nickname was there. Then again exited the game, logged out from Galaxy, launched the game and no nickname. Is it possible you had another instance of Galaxy running?
WItcher 3 preloaded very fast, but today WItcher 3 patch is downloading at 0,1 MB/s (I'm on 300 Mbit connection)

I thought it was my connection. I had a look at the changelog and cancelled the update, didn't look important to me at the moment.
