Okay I know very little about this subject and was trying to read on it, I know there is something in surah Al-Kahf, is there anything more in reference to this in the Quran?

GoG is an acronym for good old games, or at least it was. It is not in reference to anything else. MaGoG was a community member project so who knows, they may have named it based on religious references.

Magogs suck because they have splash damage and your units are not immune to it. The building also costs 5 mercury and all you get is +1 attack and +2 speed. They will be terrible either way so it is just better to save the resources, use them on something more important and stay on Gogs at least early on . They fall like flies, have terrible stats and I'd rather have Lizardmen then either of them as a tier 2 shooter and that's saying something.

But seriously... I read a long time ago that Gog and Magog is something from Hebrew bible or something like that. Not sure though as it was a looong time ago since I looked into that.

EDIT:
Yup, remembered right. Wikipedia confirms it.

I thought of these guys instead.
Gork, who the Orks say is brutal but kunnin', and Mork, who is kunnin' but brutal.

Was reading rationalwiki https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Gog_and_Magog about this and came across this gem:

"George W. Bush claimed that one of his military goals in Iraq was to thwart Gog and Magog. This confused the French, among others."

They were also both in a crappy old sci-fi movie.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the OP is one of those mysterious "copy and paste from another part of the Internet" bots, and shall never be heard from again in this thread.

Yes, you are correct that Gog and Magog are mentioned in Surah Al-Kahf (Chapter 18) of the Quran. The Quran provides some information about them in this chapter, describing them as a powerful and corrupting force that will be unleashed at the end of times. While the Quran primarily mentions Gog and Magog in Surah Al-Kahf, there are no extensive details about them elsewhere in the Quran. Most of the information and interpretations about Gog and Magog come from Islamic traditions and commentaries, rather than from additional Quranic verses.
I know this is a bad necro, just want to point out a fun fact. There is a misstranslation from the very earlierJewish form of Ezekiel 38, into the Bible and the Quran. Originaly the Jewish tranlations is "Gog from Magog", so Magog is a place or tribe Gog came from. The mistranslation later became "Gog and Magog", so it became two people / entities.

religion, heh.

And that's what they get for orphaning their acronym.
It turns out that every time I come across the word "Magog", I can't help but think of mrkgnao.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
