It's literally a small file, like a few MBs, that you put in the game's directory that removes the Ubi DRM entirely.

I mean... I'm just saying.

I'm sticking to my principles. Still, I'm longing to finally play AC2 or SC :(

You are perfectly entitled to do that and I have done up till now. However AC2 for €11 and now SC:C for €9 well that's me sending Ubisoft the message that if they are going to use that DRM then all the titles they value at €50 are only worth about €10 to me.

KavazovAngel: Or, go to Amazon UK and get all three for around 40 pounds. :p
avatar
bansama: I would. Gladly. But Amazon UK refuse to ship games to this part of the world. Amazon US will ship some games that sell, but generally not when they are new releases (depending on the publisher). Which is pretty much why I abandoned boxed copies many years ago.
Ah, that sucks then.

THAT is what I was looking for!

KB Crossworlds Game of the Year Edition around $10 US - this is platinum but I guess two copies of Legacy won't kill me.

My question is, there's an 'Install' button on this downloader thingy like it might do like Greenman and not tell me where my files are to back up - this isn't the case, is it? I can back up downloaded games from GetGamesGo?

Yes you can keep the installer file, just run the install program again.

Yeah I chased one of the files it was downloading with Windows Search. It created a directory named after the game in the hidden Applications folder under All Users on C drive.

Which I was trying to pull it to my E drive because there's more room there.

Now that I know where it is, when it asks to install, I'll cancel, back up along with the downloader executable (like GamersGate) and then install.

I want to send them the message that I wouldn't take their games even if they were given to me for free, as long as there is an online check each time I fire up the bloody game. One time activation I'm fine with.

Luisfius: It is listing it at 7.5 pounds for me. For that it is still a crazy good deal.
Slightly more expensivethan what I got it for on the Steam Christmas sale, which was 7.5 USD but eh. Still VERY VERY worth it
avatar
Foxhack: Dude, change currency. I can buy stuff in Americabucks!

I'd buy it, but I'm still on XP, so eh. It'll go on sale again one day.
Had no idea GetGamesGoallowed one to do that. Useful!
In any case, it's like the third time JC2 has been at that pricepoint.

Here's the UK version. It's £13.39, which is not great since Gameplay, Amazon and GAME all sell it for under ten quid.

RE: UbiDRM. I've also not touched any of their games with a bargepole. However, if TrackMania 2 is infected with it, I may have to change that policy. I love me some TrackMania.

RE: Get Games: That's actually not bad. Hitman games at £1.50 a pop is quite tempting.
