GetGames wisely decided not to compete with Steam and the others it seems and have started their sale now. Lots of stuff has been discounted but I find myself drawn to Condemned & The Club double pack for €4.98

Edit: Also they have a pre-order for Shogun Total War for £29.99 and you get Napoleon Total War Imperial Edition free. As these are Steam games you would be able to gift Napoleon if you already have it.

Limbo is 10 bucks (800 points) instead of 15 bucks today on Live, I highly suggest checking this title out. It's one of the really compelling Live titles from 2010. The demo gives a pretty good taste of how it goes, but know that the puzzles and platforming get ever more devilish as you progress.

If this is possible I have been waiting and waiting for Napoleon TW to go on sale aand it seems it's not going to happen.

So if anyone here buys Shogun and already has Napoleon or doesn't want it can we work something out? This is the main game I was hoping to get a good deal on via steams sale buy they only discounted the entire Empire+Napoleon pack, not the individual ones.

I was kind of wondering... I already own Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl on Steam. If I buy the pack I'll get only Call of Pripyat or will I get a second SoC copy to gift?

I can confirm you won't. Steam sales make a song and dance about when you can gift someone an extra.

Thanks for the reply. I find this rather stupid, you can't take the product you're buying because you already own a copy of it... ¬¬ Still, 5 bucks on CoP is a good offer.

But I'm not sure I'll buy it yet, too much to play already and is not like Stalker games take long to be on promotion. I'll think about it until tomorrow.

I have hear COP is better than Clear Sky, but I hated Clear sky so much, I only got about an hour in before I sold my copy. SOC was epic, but Clear Sky was lacking, just curious if COP is worth picking up or if it is going to be Clear Sky revisited?

Clear Sky is the bad apple, though greatly improved by the Clear Sky Complete mod. COP is generally regarded as the best in the series, or a near second to SOC (also improved by the SOC Complete mod).

That seems to be what I am hearing from friends as well...I loved SOC, beat it 3 or 4 times with and without mods, but I thought Clear Sky was abysmal. Broken features and bugs were too much for me, and the feel was just too different.

COP I've heard is the most cleanly programmed -- little or no bugs at launch, and improved further since.

Here's a nice summary from the Steam forums:

"Gameplay wise, one could argue this is the best game in the series it takes the best of the previous two games and throws most of the bad out the window. Graphically this is the best game in the series. Gone are the hoards of people from the zone, replaced by a moody atmospheric environment full of hidden treasures and dangers. Returning is the upgrade system and new artifact hunting system that Clear Sky introduced. This could be the ultimate stalker experience."

The one thing that bugged me a lot about CoP, for some odd reason they REALLY limited the graphics on 32 bit systems. You can't select the highest texutures and such without running on a 64 bit system for some reason.

Out of the box I was not able to get CoP to even look as good as SOC on my NEWER machine because I was still on XP.

I jsut thought it was weird that the newest Stlaker game looked worse for me then the original.
