mchack: I was bored and went out looking for game deals on my own for once ;) (else I rely on this thread for all my game deal needs ;) ... Well, haven't found anything worth reporting, but I found something very weird to my eyes:
There's this rpg sale over on mac/wingamestore.com and it's rather underwhelming, but what really got me was that they sell "Iesabel" for $3.75 at 75% off which struck me as rather expensive. Well they have set the base price at $15 whereas Steam and most other shops sell it at a base price of only $4.99!
So is it normal for a store to arbitrarily set the base price at three times the usual, presumably just so they can put a "75% off"-label on it and sell it for slightly less then the others, or did they just not get the memo of a presumed base price decrease sometime ago?
So what do you think? Is it evil or stupid or normal (and I'm just naive)?
I think it's normal. The game's price used to be $14.99 up till December and while the dev/pub did inform BundleStars in time for the price drop, either: There's this rpg sale over on mac/wingamestore.com and it's rather underwhelming, but what really got me was that they sell "Iesabel" for $3.75 at 75% off which struck me as rather expensive. a) they forgot about WinGameStore (though a bit unlikely if you take the discount into account)
b) it takes time to renegotiate the contract to change the game's price
