What price do you get for Gold Rush! Classic? Here the sale price is $3.83, or €2.99. FFG uses the euro as their base currency, so euro prices should be the "normal" ones.
HypersomniacLive: What is more interesting, is that within the past few days the following games by Anuman were released on FireFlower Games:
Chicago 1930
Sinking Island
Road to India
Cleopatra: A Queen's Destiny
Destination: Treasure Island
Salammbô
Out of those, only Salammbô is on Steam (and at half price than on FireFlower Games), but under a different publisher (Meridian4).
Could this mean that they might be coming here too? In the not so distant future? Wow, I hope so! I'd welcome all of those, especially Salammbô and Sinking Island.

The base price is 5.99€, VAT excluded. If I'm not terribly mistaken, it's $5.99 (5.59€) on Steam (can't find it being sold anywhere else), so it is a $1=1€ conversion, but then again it's the only DRM-free version available.

The base price for me is $7.67. So while it may be $1=1€, it's in the other direction. I get to pay the euro price along with the rest of you. I just don't pay VAT. They calculate it, but when I check it out it detects I'm in the US and removes it.

And I do think that this model is equally ill-conceived, as it'd appear that everyone makes more money if the majority of customers is from the US.
I don't think they actually detect your location, the ToS and FAQ say that the final price is calculated based on the location one states when opening an account. So, theoretically I could state that I'm in the US and get the same final price as you; not sure if the checkout would go through with a non-US issued credit card or a non-US based PayPal account.

But yes, the setting , esp in the first one is more unique and you can do a lot more worse for €4/ $5.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qzY49-iK-A#t=24 And according to the reviews for the Ultimate Edition this has not changed one bit.
PS: I have a too soft spot for 'bad / underrated' games, too but this is close to the quality of Air Control, IMHO and I won't drop $1 on it.
While Blackbay Asylum and Splatter seem to be THE games of the deal.
Necronomicon is nice but has some insanely hard puzzle early mid game.
and as a side note: the Steam versions Of Dracula are cut down versions that differ from the GOG Versions, which are the full experience.

Concerning Necronomicon, it's a good game, inspired by The Case of Charles Dexter Ward, but a bit too short and easy IMO ( I guess you speak about the dusts puzzles ? Yes, alchemy is hard but interesting ).

And speaking of VAT - FireFlower Games has gift certificates/ store credit that one can purchase, but here's an odd thing that happens. Their system subtracts the Swedish VAT (25%), so the final amount that the certificate is worth is less than the money one pays for it, and if it's then used for a purchase, VAT is added at checkout, hence one ends up paying VAT twice.
And if one chooses to gift the certificate to someone not subject to VAT, they do collect it anyway.
I've asked for clarification on this, as the whole approach doesn't make much sense to me.

Either their accountant is woefully undertrained or they are double-dipping.
