Not necessarily, FFVII is only $3.99 and it might be more convenient to have a digital copy. I also have the PSX disc so take my word for it, you'll be glad to have the Steam copy when your console fails.

It's a pretty good port and not having to plug in your old PSX - well worth the money :)
