I think it was after that, actually (not that it really matters). I bought a hard copy of Sins since it was DRM-free and shortly after that Brad came out with his 'Gamers Bill of Rights' bullshit, which he promptly followed with "Oh, and by the way, if you want all updates for Sins, you'll need to install Impulse. Oh, and we're making our own DRM scheme called GOO, which will be on future titles". So much for the much-vaunted Bill of Rights. I stopped using Impulse (which I grudgingly installed to get Sins updates) or buying anything Stardock related after that.
