Atari and Matrix Games also use Digital River. Usually, you download an installer package that can be backed up somewhere and that doesn't require any sort of web connection on install anyway, so whatever.
As for deals!
On Gamersgate, a few Paradox titles 60% off.
Europa Universalis Rome Gold, Victoria Complete and Crusader Kings Complete $7.98 each.
Europa Universalis III Complete $11.18. (Note that it doesn't include the newest expansion, Heir to the Throne. Worth picking up!)

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 is only $4.97 this week on Gamersgate. MP is still active in this one or Ubisoft shutted down the game's servers, does anyone knows this?
Bob Came in Pieces is $4.97 on Gamersgate too.

Just to confirm, I bought the Kohan warchest and it is DRM free apart from a serial number for each game. There are no online activations or install limits of any kind so if you back up your installer (which is a single EXE file just like GOG), then you can install it as many times as you want.
For $20, this is a real bargain for three games.

I was about to ask, so thanks for answering my question. I'll definitely get the warchest as soon as I arrive at home today - the games in the Kohan series are definitely my favorite RTS games ever.

You are right, they are only a merchant site and they are famous in distributing software, and for big clients. I don't have anything against them as a company.
But, I just don't like their games' distribution and the same for other companies that charge you $10/whatever for additional downloads. I don't like paying $20 for my games and feeling that it is a rental, a possession of just a few days . ;)
Thanks for everyone that posted that the games are drm-free and can be backed up, it's really good to know. If GOG doesn't get them, I'll probably buy from there in the future.
