mystral: I was specifically asking for people's opinions because in my experience, features lists are a lot of hype and not much else.

If you've played the base game then you'd have a pretty firm idea from that what it brings to the table. Had you read it, you'd see it's a list of features. Not hyperbole. I wouldn't have posted it if it was. If you haven't got Tropico 3 then you're going to need that to play AP anyway.

acare84: Shadows in Pandora Tomorrow as far as I know. They used weird shadowing technique on Pandora Tomorrow and new GPU's can't render it. So without shadows Splinter Cell is not Splinter Cell. Ubisoft can fix it maybe but they aren't supporting their games well as you know.

I bought a video card some years ago that came with Pandora Tomorrow, but I never tried to play it until recently. Here's a lovely screenshot.

I think you misunderstood my question.
I was asking whether the expansion was worth it, not because i want to buy it, but to know if I should buy the base game on sale now or wait until it's bundled with the expansion.
Anyone have an opinion on City Life 2008? It catches my eye at a mere $4 on Gamersgate. Reviews seem more or less positive, but I get the sense that there isn't a lot to it once you have a handle on the social dynamics.

Well, the base game has plenty of content and is typically cheaper than AP. So I'd get that now and wait for a reduction in price on AP.

Agreed, too bad it isn't on GOG. I'd buy the three games here.
I've quit the store in seconds, just after I saw where the link goes to: digitalriver.com
I don't know the DRM in it, and it also has this option in the cart: "Extended Download Service (details)—$9.99", for a 2 years extension... =/

Wow. That's kind of horrible.

Yeah, apart from EA Store, Digital River is a rental service.
I've bought tons of non DRM games via digital river. They are just a merchant site and have nothing to with DRM AFAIK.

And Capcom. Probably others.
huh, kinda shame that the Lunar pack will be unavailable for download after the 14 days after sale expires :(
