Is it worth picking up without them?
I'm not much of a strategy gamer. Loved Homeworld, but tend to lose interest in Master of Orion.
Do they add enough that it's worth waiting for a (unlikely to come soon) similar deal on the bundle?

SOASE is really good game and fun game. Also you can try it's demo too. For $4 it is really cheap. And if you like the game so much you can buy mini expansions too they are cheap too $9.99.

So you can't install that on an offline PC? (Oh, and it's 3.27€)

Thanks! Sorry, I don't have experiences with Impulse (only once with Gamersgate and that worked much the same as you describe it).

It's Stardock's fault because they haven't advertised that service at all since it went live. Also, they only offer their own games for downloat at Impulse Anywhere, third party games require the Impulse client.

How long till we hear that it is all Steam's fault from Wardell?

Well, he already blamed them for something this week while advertising their coming Facebook Connect feature so maybe when they actually launch Impulse::Reactor.
I hate Stardock's lack of focus for implementing new features. First, it was GOO and how it would enable reselling of games which still doesn't and almost no publisher is using it or abandoning it (Paradox, Capcom). Second, Impulse Anywhere but it never really took off and today serves to download Stardock games only. Next, ImpulseTV that is a glorified Youtube channel and a really uninteresting one at that. Now Impulse::Reactor, but considering Stardock's record I'm not optimistic that it will get adopted by many developers. It will probably die after a year or so like all their other "innovations". And yes, then it will be Valve's fault.
I really wanted them to succeed but all their whining is really starting to bother me.

I got it as part of the Sega Mega Pack sale that Steam ran last week. So far I've played it far more than all of the other games in that bundle (bunch of Total War stuff, AvP2010, some other stuff) combined. Currently going through Expert Grand Prix as Sonic, getting first place in a race takes skill, knowledge of the course and luck with the other racer's items.
$11.98 is quite justifiable if you like arcade racing and/or kart games, even though there's no online MP.

Ok, Majesty 2 gets quite difficult after a few missions. Difficult as in: You have no gold and are constantly under attack by huge amounts of enemies.
