TameGamer: From what I've read, the company is attempting to take out the middleman when it comes to used games trades

amok: um.... would that not make them the middlemen?
Maybe they're putting together some kind of Peer-to-Peer used game trading network? (Didn't one of those get shut down in Greenland recently?)

Gabe is making noise about turning Steam into less of a middleman and more of an API. That sounds crazy, but I also thought Gabe was nuts to bet the whole company on Steam in the first place. Stardock bet pretty big on a more open store, and got burned badly doing so.

The difference is, Valve and Stardock actually had some collateral to put down on their wacky schemes. This little store has nothing to show for how THEY WILL CHANGE THE VERY PILLARS OF DIGITAL RETAIL, it's just a bunch of buzzwords that sounded cool to the CEO/CFO/CTO/Schedule C.

So since some stores are legit all of them are? That makes no sense. Tons of stories have been written about how these cheap key stores sell either keys purchased with stolen credit cards or from low-income countries. Both screw over developers.

Better to be cautious, not like we don't see great deals from legit sites.
Do you think i would post a suspicious deal without checking it out first and without a warning ?
As i wrote : Simply Games is a legit website and store .

Frankly, they're pretty suspicious, only because of these prices:

Dead Island: Riptide CD Key Download (PC)
19.99 pounds (29.99 retail price)

Dead Island: Riptide (PC) - I assume this is a physical box
19.85 pounds (49.99 retail price)

Look at those prices.

How in the hell are they selling a physical copy of the game that sells for fifty pounds for twenty? And why are they selling a key for ten pounds less than retail? This STINKS of Eastern European CD keys.

Today's Steam deal: Ravaged 66% off ($3.39 locally)

I dont want to defend Lackó(because he doesnt deserve it :D), but look at Zavvi. So the answer is: Brits.

Hell you can get Riptide from The Hut for £18 with promo code HORROR10
Even more Brits. BRITS EVERYWHERE :O

But you know what? I checked local game shop CD Galaxis. They are selling Riptide Special Edition for ~£20, and we have 27% VAT :O
Polish Muve.pl has it too at ~£20.

I like the looks of this deal, mainly because I think the game is worth $20. Unfortunately, I don't think I can bring myself to drop an extra $20 at this time.
