orcishgamer: EDIT: Fire kitty is a bad example as apparent the money for that, at least some of it, went to charity. So good on them, however, I think the point still stands, they're selling mounts for 25 dollars...
Unless something vastly changed since the beginning of World of Warcraft mounts have always been readily available ingame and the buyable ones are simply vanity ones. If offering vanity ones makes a game in 'such a state', it's been in that state years already.

The thing is, people were tearing Funcom a new hole when they launched The Secret World with a subscription model and a cash shop for vanity items. One rule for some...

Yes, you can get all tier mounts in game by quests, drops or gold. The ones you buy for real money is vanity only.

orcishgamer: Wooah, they straight up sell pets on their website now: http://us.blizzard.com/store/details.xml?id=1100002356

That's like putting microtransactions in a premium game, isn't it? Only that fire kitty pet is 10 freaking dollars!

Wow, didn't know WOW was in such a state, hurting bad are they?

EDIT: Fire kitty is a bad example as apparent the money for that, at least some of it, went to charity. So good on them, however, I think the point still stands, they're selling mounts for 25 dollars...
Naw, WoW isn't hurting at all. It's been busy since Mists of Pandaria. They've been selling mounts and pets for quite a while now, at least over a year if not two. They started with a mount and people bought that up so they kept going with more, etc. The store bought mounts and pets are pretty popular too. I see them in game a lot.

I would agree the prices for those things are crazy but apparently the market will bear those prices so...

Might be because Secret World launched with a hundred items and they sell stuff like inventory space and experience boosters. They aren't nearly the same thing. WoW has added what, 20 things over 2 or 3 years? Not to mention the primary ways of acquiring items are reversed. In WoW you'll acquire the majority of pets and mounts in game. In TSW you'll be lucky to acquire a second or third outfit after questing through the majority of the game.

EA Origin :

Batman Arkham City: Game of the Year Edition 7.99 €
Just to give this game a little more promotion:
http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-SOTSCC/sword-of-the-stars-collection

SOTS1 complete for 2.50€. It's a great 4x game once you "get" it, with a focus on designing your ships and combat.

Wow. I bought that a little more than a year ago for about 6€ and considered even that to be a very good deal. For 2.50, I'm recommending this to anybody who's even remotely interested in empire-building SciFi stratgey games.

I don't know about now, but at launch (which is when I was talking about) they didn't sell inventory space. Also, that's nonsense about outfits. There are a number of vendors that sell clothes for in-game currency. I'll give you the XP boosters, though.
