Just asking, I alwas wondered: what's the point of having Bioshock on Steam? Making the DRM GWFL+SecuRom PLUS Steam?
I am always tempted but I don't see any advantage over my GamersGate Versions.

Only Bioshock 2 has GfWL. And I think the securom DRM has been patched out of BS 1. I only had the retail versions, which I could finally throw away now. Also, with the Amazon deal you get the uncensored version.

And of course the obvious advantage of a local, fast server wherever in the world you are.

Of course, if you already have it on GG, there is hardly a reason.

Not sure about the Steam version, but it's not patched out of the retail version. What they did was remove the activation limits. But SecuROM is still there and the game still has to be activated when you install it.
