StingingVelvet: I really don't understand people who want Steam keys for everything. Putting all your eggs in one basket is a bad thing. Just add the shortcuts to Steam if you want to launch everything from it.

Anyway, don't want a debate about it, just speaking my mind.
Man I was thinking the same thing.
Just make a xls file list of your games and you're done.

Some of us just find it much easier to download the game from Steam than have to endure a third party site. Just look at all the people who got the free games from that UK site, they can't get their downloads.

As for Dark Messiah, I thought that game required Steam, even on retail packages?

There's a difference between avoiding sketchy or small sites and only wanting to use one provider. If you lose your Steam account for some reason, even for just a week, your entire library could be gone. Like I said, eggs in one basket.

I use Steam, Gamersgate, Amazon and GOG. I have an old Direct2Drive account, so I guess I have a Gamefly one. It would take one hell of a sale to get me to sign up to another site, but I don't need everything to be on Steam.

You mentioned four well-known sites. I know next to nothing about that site with the free games. :P

That was sort of my whole point. You can buy from well-known, reputable and stable sites without putting all your eggs in the Steam basket.

StingingVelvet: Is Dark Messiah on Amazon a Steam key or a download? Appears to be a download and I would pay $2.50 to get it DRM free (I have a Steam version).
I contacted them and they responded by saying

"All information we have available is listed on the product's detail page, including file format, compatibility, DRM, etc., You can view that information here:"

With a link.

So yeah. Not really sure seeing as how it doesn't list steam but at the same time doesn't list something like DRM-free which a lot of other games that are just downloads do.
