StingingVelvet: Anyone have thoughts on the game Chrome?

Thinking of getting that and the recent Sonic games on amazon.

trusteft: It's rough. It's good enough, but rough. If you are too accustomed to modern FPS you might find yourself underwhelmed, or overwhelmed, whichever means quitting the game and not playing it again.

It's worth playing, but you might not like it if you want your games all fluffy and nice and that.
Chrome is considerd by me amongst the most bland FPS I'ver ever played. While not nearly as bad as Red Faction 2, it's just boring. all you do is run around some semi tropical Islands with excatly 2 kind of animals and ty to snipeshoot the same guards in the same interior over and over again. Only in one level you actually see a Space station from inside and guess what: It's bland. It has some moments between looong moments of sneaking through the grass, because open combat is no go.
The only real fun level was the last one where you choose to fight for or against the settlers.

Chrome is like poor mans FarCry. Not even as good as Chaser which had at least a great variety of settings and it's years behind the imagaination of Unreal / 2.
For $1 or $2 you mayn give it a go but more is def. wasted. Think of the time you never will get back.

Foxhack: I thought they removed the original SiN - if you buy episodes you don't get the original anymore. :(
avatar
carnival73: Is Episodes the same game just modified?
No the Episodes are a light shadow of what the Original SIN was. Way over the top story and action, with a variety rarely found in a game.
Some review said The year SIN came out, everybody expected this to be GOTY. The out of nowhere Half Life appeared and stabbed SIN so hard in the back that it never really recovered from the blow, popularity/ sale-wise. While insanely hard and unfair at times the original SIN was a excellent game.

I managed to download and install Borderlands from that promo. If I'm not mistaken it uses Securom as DRM.

I think I'm the only one that needed it but if Borderlands fails to run it might be that you don't have an SSE2 processor...this fix fixes it good though:

I bought it, too. I didn't get the original Sin. Probably because I'm in Germany. :(
Don't know if it has been posted before (too many pages) but here it is:

Is it the Mark Wahlberg version? ;-P

Anyway, HIGHLY recommended and when I played it this year there weren't any issues, so maybe it has even been officially fixed.
