carnival73: Crap! The newest Dungeon Lords release there is $10.50! Why oh why did I not heed the warnings and still squander on pid? *cries*
CymTyr: Mmm that's tempting. I enjoyed the first Dungeon Lords quite a bit :)

It's the same game they've just repolished, patched and added more content.

reaver894: hope its better than the original, one of the races couldn't climb a fricking ladder that unless you knew another way around (there was another way) stopped your game dead

Yeah, that's actually one aspect that I liked about older games is that alternate paths and secrets were hidden pretty good and you had to explore well enough to find them.
Something that bugged me about the later Zelda games was that they started making secrets stand out obviously which took some of the fun of exploring out of the game.
The fact that there was an alternate path for non-climbing characters shows that the game was solid just not made as easy as newer gen games have been.
I have the not-so-official version of the old DL and I was just about escape the first dungeon before putting it away for later. I felt it was good but the first dungeon was long and winding enough to start to get monotonous (I was also playing the big ware monster so I was kinda limited) but the old school aspect that sunk me was that I didn't play conservative or save enough so it was near impossible to proceed further after having expended myself along the way.
I want to buy this new one to not only play a complete and polished version but to also be able to claim that I now have an official copy.
