nijuu: Anyone know how the downloads for certain games on Gamestop sale works?. AOEIII steam or download via impulse etc?.
avatar
the_bard: That one looks like Impulse.

I say that. They do have their own client. I just fired mine up. It's called Gamestop App. If it's the same as whatever Impulse was, I don't know. I don't even remember when it changed or if it did. I drink from time to time...
yep own client, but i just fell out with them big time - they have Dragon Age 2 for £4 ish, but i cannot buy coz i live in the uk ffs !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sadly, I see nothing in there particularly interests me. Cept, maybe Dark Scavenger. And it doesn't that much. Oh and "DEMISE: Ascension" a 32.50 USD game that looks like something a badger wiped it's ass with. I know looks aren't everything, but I have a hard time believing that that game is worth 32.50 USD. I love dungeon crawlers. If anyone's actually played it can help make sense of this madness I would appreciate it. Thanks... -____-

Pick up DEMISE: Ascension and let us know if it really is 32.50 USD worth of fun.

I don't really want it, but if someone else was after it, i could perhaps do a trade?
I picked up Demise: Ascension, but apparently the developer has run out of keys and hasn't supplied any new ones to Gamersgate yet. If he does before the sale ends I'll definitely post a thread about it.

Air Buccaneers seems pretty cool, or Dark Scavenger.

AirBuccaneers, Dark Scavenger, Telepath RPG, Black Market, Cardinal Quest, Survivors of Ragnarok, 3079, and Will Fight for Food are all worth a shot.

DEMISE: Ascension and Devil Whiskey are great for fans of old-school dungeon crawlers with daft control schemes and horrible interfaces, but that's about the extent of their audience. DEMISE has an entire online portion that's probably the meat of it (for co-op) and Devil Whiskey is solely single player. They aren't bad. They can be pretty engaging, even. But they're definitely old-school in terms of just about everything.

Never saw this thread. Thanks!
So there is this lovely game called Trike that is trying to get into Steam.

It looks like a nice arcade-y game to play around with. Here is the greenlight link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=95577607

The thing is that the dev. is giving away codes to the game to 800 or so people who enter their details over at his website: http://ultimatewalrus.com/trikepromo.php

These codes will allow you to redeem the game for free *only* if it makes it into Steam via Greenlight. Might as well get one hey?

Pretty sure I upvoted it already, and just grabbed my free code. Totally forgot to. Thanks for reminding me.
Civilization IV Complete is 75% off at GamersGate - 6.24€. Highly recommended for strategy lovers who don't already have it! :)

If you happen to live in a place where Amazon is an option, it's worth noting that their version is DRM-free. Alternatively, they also offer a Steam version, so be careful that you make the right choice.

It was actually on sale a while ago (technically, it still is, if you call 25% off the DRM-free version a sale), but it isn't 75% off right now, I'm afraid. And again, it's irrelevant if you have regional issues with Amazon. I thought some people might like to know this before they take the plunge. Civilization IV is an excellent game, and the complete edition is really the only way to go. The expansions add a great deal to the game (one is a remake of Colonization!), and also enable several mods like Fall from Heaven II.

For the record, another user, I cannot recall, had argued with me in this very topic that GamersGate does not lower the price of a deal during an ongoing promotion. Civilization IV has been 50% off all week, and now it's 75% off in a daily deal. So yes, for the record, they are not different from Steam in that regard. It often pays to wait until the last day... unless a game sells out or the discount is a mistake, mind you. ;)

Skunk: DRM-free.
I thought the latest patch made it DRM free.
