orcishgamer: We were posting and directly talking about the very deals he came in to comment on. All he was doing was giving us info from the horse's mouth. GOG has been extremely permissive in us advertising deals from other sites and Tony never tried to post in any threads save this one, which is dedicated to posting deals from all over. If you're in here you know about deals on other sites, even those that compete with GOG (and no, I don't think Amazon and GOG have very many titles in common).
I personally think it is different if the poster is just an user (customer) of different services, or a member of their staff. I think some sites don't allow advertising of competing services even by its users.

But maybe GOG staff indeed contacted him in PM, and that's why he left. Not because of one user complaining. Nothing is saying though that in such a case the representative wouldn't make it public "Ok, the GOG staff told me to leave you guys, so unfortunately I'll have to do that.". Again making the staff look like the bad guys.

These are not quite as easy questions as some think, there are lots of involved things. I just think it is clearer if the company representatives understand to stay away from each others' forums (goes also to GOG staff), except plainly as individual customers of the competing service. So if some Valve staff member has a problem with his GOG game, or vice-versa, fire away. :)

That's just my opinion, I didn't tell the Amazon guy to go away (at least IIRC), and I was kinda happy to see some answer to a question that had been bugging me about Amazon.

amok: I fear I was the one starting that... I did not mean to come across as harsh or dramatic... hope I did not upset anyone. Apologies if what I said came out wrong, though I still stand behind the meaning of it even if it may not be clear.
Looking back over those posts, I confess my memory made them much worse than they truly were (and kudos to you for digging them up and providing links, btw). I personally wasn't bothered by Tony being here and actually appreciated it, as it just meant I had one less site to keep track of for answers to some of my questions. Overall I think it's a shame he felt he had to leave here, but it's all good. Everyone's allowed to express their opinion and GOG can decide what they want to do about any kind of controversy.

ajsultan: Amazon have added Warner Bros title to their PC Download library and have added it to the labor day sale:
LEGO Batman - $9.99
This has been slightly cheaper at GG ($6.78) at least a couple of times before.
As for DRM, probably SecuROM activation, but it wasn't mentioned. GG version does note SecuROM activation.

The Harry Potter 1-4 was cheaper a week or two ago at GG ($6.78 again)
DRM - These games require activation through a STEAM account, unlike the SecuROM activation of the games on GG.
Today's daily deal at GamersGate is Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine at 50% off:

low rated
Hearts of Iron 3 Collection(base game+11 DLC) is 75% off, costs 7.49 euros, DRM-free:

I so want to spend like mad on this Amazon sale but I just kicked down over 100 for KS projects and 50 for LoL because RIOT makes fun games... With Pokemon B&W 2 and all the October releases I can't jump on these... anyone else having the same problem?

I probably need to post this in a new "Things not really worth bitching about, but I'll go ahead anyway" thread.

What kind of DRM does TW2 have?

Custom online activation, or offline activation based on generated code.

Aight, doesn't sound too bad. I might pick it up.
Terraria's $3.39 on Steam. http://store.steampowered.com/app/105600/
FYI if you get the King Arther Collection on GG it includes both expansions, The Saxons and The Druids.

I installed it last night and checked. Killer deal imho. I am in love with the game already and a friend snagged part 2 for me when it was on sale for 4.49 a few weeks back.

It's an awesome diversion from GW 2 and I am a huge Arthur buff, so for me it's pure win.

Already got it. I'm fine with not getting that extra 80 cents off though, it's already cheap.

Would you really wait three months just to save $0.89?
