Well, it is just 1.25 more for the first game + xpacs.

But as far as content, Spellforce 2 is still huge and the better game. The story in the games is serviceable but nothing you'll really regret missing that much if you just start off in game 2.

Not really. The game is a bit simpler than Spellforce 1... never did work out if I found that to be a good thing or a bad thing.
