Both games can be activated on Origin* however, so if you have a friend or a "friend" that can get you the code, you are golden.

Purely optional. You can download the game and uninstall Origin if you want and still play the game.

I keep waiting for this to hit 10 USD or less, because I don't think it'll be nearly as good as AOE2, but it seems it might not ever make it to that point, geez!

MonstaMunch: 48 Hour sale on Square Enix at getgamesgo. Some pretty awesome prices.....

Psyringe: Hmm, I don't see any information about DRM. Do we know if/which one they use? Also, does GetGames use a client, online activation, or similar? (I could probably find that out by reading their ToS, but I have little time right now, sorry :( ).
Getgames has no client but they do issue keys normally for activation.

Non steam Square titles also tend to have securom drm. Tomb Raider and Deus EX titles certainly do.

Thanks for the info! :) In that case I'll probably wait until I can get the games I want DRM-free and with extras in a GOG sale.

About a year and a half ago it was on sale on GFWL marketplace for $1, if memory serves. I have a copy that I've never played, but seeing how much it normally goes for I couldn't pass it up for $1

It's much worse than AOE2. I don't even think it's worth 10.

You're right about that. It is an enjoyable game, but far from the quality from AoE2.

Is any digital site actually stocking AoE 2?
Anyone here got Warhammer Space Marine and recommend it?

Atm for me in UK it's £10 and i have a 25% THQ coupon to take it down to £7.50 which seems like a good deal.

However i'm unsure if Saints Row 3 is going to go on a daily weekend deal between now and march (when the coupons expire). I would much rather get that game, but i doubt it's going to go on sale considering how new it is.

Get the demo and give it a try. I had a lot of fun with it (the demo, that is).

No, but there's tons of retail physical copies still in major chains for 10 USD. If people cannot legitimately get one locally and it won't get stolen in shipping I'm happy to ship a copy or two whereever.

Play the demo, if you don't like the demo you won't like the game. With that said, that's pretty cheap, within the realm of only buying it for the multiplayer co-op or something.

The gold edition? Sure it is. The story mode is amusing, and the naval battles are really good (love that Monitor ship, you don't want one of those sitting off your shore)

AoE2 is still better with way more skirmish fun, but there are quite a few hours of decent playtime in this set.

I'd probably fire up Empire Earth I & II before I would this game but I enjoyed the campaign at least.

Space Marine is pretty darn solid. Great single player, eventhough it's a tad linear. Mulitplayer is good, with a nice customizer for your character. The "horde" mode/co-op is terrible, imo. Overall, I'd recommend it for sure!
