Steam Daily deal Flotilla -75%

Pheace: They only really matched Steam's Xmas sales I think so I doubt they lost much there since Steam users will stay with Steam on that.

January will probably be less active due to the good Amazon sale but most sales happened December anyway no doubt.

SimonG: I spent at least half the "christmas sale money" on Amazon, mostly the "big titles". Steam was the next big share, but mostly small games and bundles. The rest was GG,etc. (GOG was on hold due to CDPs legal shennanigans).

All the games I bought on Amazon were games I would have purchased otherwise on Steam. And I don't think I was the only one in that regard.
Overall I still think it will not have had such a huge impact, because mostly it was US only, unless you're one of the savvy who uses a fake billing address and the like, but that's not your average consumer.

That said, competition is always nice :)

nagytow: I played Batman: Arkham City and I loved it. I finished the game on normal difficulty and had all the secrets, challenges etc on 100%. Saved all discovered stories, artworks etc to the very end so I could enjoy them all.

However one day mu saves were not there. My profile in game was gone, no progress at all. I was planning to start the game on New Game Plus mode but it was locked again of course. I've checked and the savegame files were in the right directory just GFWL decided to erase my all achievements and progress. And of course finding anything there is a miracle, every second link leads you to the 'buy poins or credits or whatever' page.

Anyway, after a rage I decided I don't want to play that game anymore. Some challenges were really hard and frustrating and going through them all again and not being sure my progress is properly saved is not for me.

So yeah, GWFL has killed my joy of the Batman: Arkham City.
I feel for you. It happened to me too but I had only less than 60% completed (75% of main story). I took some time off and returned to it later and now I have already 80% of game completed.

Going through the story again wouldn't be THAT bad, but finding all Riddler's clues and completing all challenges... too painful, too boring at times.
Speaking of Amazon, I'll just leave this lying around.

Yes, I understand you. Luckily I had to go mostly through story again and about half of trophies and challenges I do for first time so I can enjoy them.

I did the "Perfect Knight 2.0" achievement and I enjoyed every second of it, I'm was actually thinking of starting over again, but than Skyrim came along.

What can I say, I'm Batdicted!

Edit: Midweek Madness on Steam is Duke Nukem and the Daily Deal is somehting called Flotilla

Thanks! I used it to buy Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.

Edit: I was gonna say it sooner but I just completed the sale because I'm multitasking, sorry.

Curse you! I was like 15 minutes too late.

You may not see this, but I am currently shaking my fist furiously in your general direction.
New Humble Bundle - Edge, Osmos and Anomaly. If you beat average - world of goo.
New thing is that some of the games are playable on android.

HOT DOG! I've been looking for this game on a digital distribution platform for a while. Wishlisting this bad boy to buy for $3 during the next Steam sale. :)
Wish I had an Android instead of Symbian. :(
